Precious

Precious is every bit the handsome gentleman his name suggests.

At ten years old, he has that lovely mature-cat confidence about him: calm, unhurried and perfectly happy to come over for a polite hello, have a stretch and settle in for some gentle pats.

He's friendly without being demanding, very tolerant of handling and has a wonderfully relaxed presence. Precious arrived with significant dental disease, but he has since had the treatment and extractions he needed and recovered well. From here, his adopter will simply need to keep up with regular dental home care to help maintain his oral health.

Precious is also carrying some extra weight, so his new family will need to help this gorgeous man gradually slim down with measured meals, appropriate exercise and plenty of encouragement. As a senior cat, he also has an age disclaimer, and our team can talk through what that means and how best to support him as he gets older.

If you're looking for a mellow, affectionate older boy who already seems to have mastered the art of taking life easy, Precious could be exactly the gentleman you've been waiting for.

We encourage you to come and meet him at our North Melbourne shelter as soon as possible, as our cats cannot be placed on hold.
