About Buttercup
Meet Buttercup! 💕💕
Buttercup is a one-year-old mixed breed girl with a cream coat, ginger patches and a pair of ears that can never quite agree on whether to stand up or flop. She’s spent the last four weeks with me in foster care, and she’s ready for a home of her own.
She’s a busy girl with energy to burn. Her favourite pastime is leaping in the air to catch insects, and she’ll happily do it all afternoon. Buttercup’s a quick learner too: she now sits when asked, holds a short stay, and her recall gets better every week. With someone to keep her training going, she’s going to be a cracker of a dog. 💕💕
Underneath all that bounce is a real sook. Buttercup loves being with her people and will take every cuddle and pat on offer. She had a rough start to life before she came to me, so she can be wary of men at first, but once she’s properly introduced she relaxes and is fine. She’s also spent time with my 10-year-old niece and was lovely with her.
She’s crate trained and takes herself off to bed at night with no fuss. She’s now fine with cats and has lived around horses, chickens, ducks and geese. Fair warning: anything that runs is fair game to chase, so she’ll need supervision around cats and livestock while she learns.
Buttercup loves a wrestle and a snuggle with the right dog friend, but she’ll stand her ground if she doesn’t get her way, and she has no patience for a small dog with attitude. She’d suit a home with a calm, easygoing dog, or being an only dog.
Buttercup doesn’t love being left alone and is a talented escape artist, so she’s best crated if you're out for a short time, or in a home where someone’s around most for of the day. Secure, six foot fencing is a must. And keep the toilet paper up high, because she’s decided it’s the best toy ever invented.
She’s desexed, microchipped, wormed, tick treated and has had a full vet check.
Buttercup would love:
An active owner who’ll keep up her training and give her a job to do
Secure fencing and someone home a fair bit, or a crate when you’re out for a short while
A calm dog companion, or to be the only dog
Older kids rather than toddlers, as she’s still a bouncy teenager
Patience with new people, especially men, while she builds trust
If you’ve got room in your life for a cuddly, clever girl with a lot of love to give, Buttercup is waiting to meet you. 💕💕
