About Birdie STA015605
Meet Birdie, a gorgeous young lady with the sweetest, most innocent little face you've ever seen. But don't let those good looks fool you! Behind that angelic expression is a cheeky, energetic teenager who is full of mischief, loves adventure and is always looking for her next bit of fun!
Birdie is a very busy girl who absolutely loves playtime. Whether she's chasing toys, climbing to new heights or exploring every corner of her surroundings, this little pocket rocket certainly knows how to keep herself entertained. Like many teenagers, Birdie has a rebellious streak and is still learning the difference between good fun and naughty behaviour. One of her favourite games is hiding and launching a surprise attack on unsuspecting feet walking past! She thinks it's hilarious, but her humans might not always agree!
While Birdie isn't a fan of being picked up, she certainly has a softer side and enjoys curling up on a warm lap when she's ready for some downtime. She just prefers affection on her own terms, thank you very much! Birdie needs a cat-savvy family who understands teenage feline behaviour and is willing to continue teaching her good manners through patience, positive reinforcement and plenty of interactive playtime. Lots of enrichment, climbing opportunities and toys will help keep her busy mind and energetic paws out of trouble.
Due to her boundless enthusiasm and occasionally questionable manners, Birdie is not suitable for a home with young children or elderly people. She needs an active, understanding home where her cheeky antics will be appreciated and her energy channelled into appropriate activities. If you're looking for a fun-loving, mischievous little character who will keep you entertained and on your toes, Birdie might just be your perfect match. Life with this little teenager will certainly never be boring!

Adoption details
Simply note the ID number and the cats name and visit our hostel at 200 Elder Street in Greensborough. Alternatively you can call the hostel on 8457 6500. We are currently open Mon-Fri 10am-4pm / Sat-Sun 10am-3pm.
You should bring proof of your current address and preferably photo identification such as your driving license. You can only adopt a cat for yourself we do not allow animals to leave with third parties. If you are wishing to adopt a cat as a present for someone, bring them with you as cats are individuals and bond with different people in different ways, the cat you may choose, may not choose your friend! It is also important to allocate time for adoption and we recommend you allow at least a couple of hours to get to know the cat and do the necessary paperwork.
When you visit you will get to meet the cat and as this is a very important decision for both you and the cat you choose we will want to ensure the two of you are compatible and that you understand what will be involved in taking the cat into your home.
We will want to be satisfied that you are prepared to be a responsible pet owner. Responsible pet owners at the most basic level, have their pets registered, micro-chipped and de-sexed unless they are registered breeders. They also understand the issues involved in being able to properly care and take responsibility for the welfare of their pets. Most Councils in Victoria have limits on the numbers of cats you may own without a permit. It is important to check with your Council if you already own the limit and obtain a permit for the extra cat before adoption. We will require to see your permit.
We will answer any questions you have regarding cat care and help you to obtain any support you may need.
