About Caitlin
Meet Caitlin
She may be young, but this girl has already lived a whole life.
She arrived at The Lost Dogs' Home as a very devoted young mum with two gorgeous kittens in tow. In the shelter, she took her parenting duties extremely seriously, keeping a close eye on her babies and making it very clear that their safety was her number one priority. With all that responsibility on her tiny shoulders, shelter life was understandably a bit overwhelming, so the little family headed into foster care where Mum could finally relax.
And relax she did. In a quiet home, she quickly began letting her guard down, trusting her foster carer and showing us the funny, affectionate and slightly sassy girl underneath. As it turns out, though, motherhood may not have been her true calling. She adored her babies... she just wasn't particularly keen on them developing independence. Wander too far? Mum would retrieve you. Exploring without permission? Absolutely not. As the kittens grew more adventurous, their increasingly anxious helicopter parent seemed quite relieved by the prospect of an early retirement from motherhood.
Now that she's off mum-duty, she's ready to concentrate on herself, and she knows what she likes. She'll rub against you, follow you around, lean enthusiastically into pats and come over when called, but she's not quite a lap cat yet. She's more of a "I'll be close to you, thank you" kind of girl. She also appreciates an orderly household. Food bowl where she left it. Litter tray where it belongs. Personal belongings not unnecessarily rearranged. If you accidentally breach one of her policies, she's not afraid to lodge a tiny complaint, perhaps a gentle paw or little mouthy "excuse me?", but she's very quick to forgive.
Her greatest love language, however, is food. This girl is clever, motivated and ridiculously trainable. If you've ever wanted a cat you could teach to high-five, and jump through hoops, you've found your student. Bring treats, respect her boundaries, and she'll bring plenty of personality.
After raising two kittens, she's done enough looking after everyone else. Now she's looking for a home where she can finally be the baby.
