About Sutton
Meet Sutton, a sweet 15-month-old black cat with a soft coat, gentle eyes, and a heart that opens fully once he feels safe. This gentle black boy looking for a quiet home and a feline best friend.
Sutton was found under a floor on a construction site in July 2025 when he was just eight weeks old. Tiny, terrified of humans, and very vocal about being alone.
But once he was brough home and given a feline companion, everything changed. From that day it was clear: Sutton was always going to be a cat’s best friend. He simply needs another cat nearby to feel secure and confident.
He has lived indoors since kittenhood and has come a long way, but he still needs the right forever home to finish blossoming. He arrived in his current foster home recently and, after a couple of quiet days keeping to himself, has started coming out, exploring, and happily socialising with his foster brothers. Being around other cats brings out the best in him.
Sutton is a gentle, loving soul who is shy with new people at first. When things feel overwhelming he may hide, but with patience, soft voices and no pressure he slowly learns to trust. He is not a classic lap cat or constant shadow, what he truly wants is a confident, friendly feline companion he can play with, explore with, and share his days alongside.
Once he feels safe he loves toys, playtime, chin scratches (after he’s had time to settle), and snacks. He will also be very quick to remind you when it’s feeding time!
He is good with children, though a quieter household without constant high-energy screaming is ideal. A calm home that already has a friendly resident cat is the perfect setting for Sutton’s personality and confidence to grow in a big way. He needs someone patient enough to let him settle at his own pace and a feline best friend to take him under their wing and show him the ropes.
Sutton may never be the cat who races to the door or claims your lap every evening, but he has so much quiet love and personality to give, especially to the cat who becomes his constant companion. In the right environment this gentle boy will flourish.
Sutton is approximately 15 months old, has been desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and is located with his amazing foster family in Seaford.
If you have a peaceful home, patience, and a friendly cat ready to become someone’s best friend, Sutton could be the most rewarding addition.
Please get in touch if you think you can offer him the calm, cat-filled life he needs.
About Us
Urban Feline Australia is a small, independent cat rescue dedicated to saving surrendered cats from kill shelters and finding them loving, permanent homes.
Founded and run by a passionate animal lover with the support of dedicated friends and volunteers, we specialise in caring for cats that have previously lived in family homes but, for various reasons, can no longer stay with their owners.
Since our inception, we have been fortunate to build a small but dedicated network of volunteer foster carers. These compassionate individuals welcome the surrendered cats into their homes, providing them with love, care, and a safe environment while we search for their perfect forever families.
As a tiny, grassroots rescue with no government funding or large facilities, every rescue is powered by compassion, community support, and a genuine commitment to animal welfare.
All adoption fees and donations go directly toward the essential needs of the cats in our care — including premium food, veterinary treatment, litter, equipment, and ongoing medical support. We rely heavily on the generosity of our foster carers, volunteers, and supporters to continue our work.
Our long-term vision is to expand so we can help even more cats in need. This includes securing a larger dedicated property and, one day, possibly opening a cat café to raise awareness and funds while creating a welcoming space for cat lovers.
How You Can Help

We are always in need of foster carers. If you have a safe, loving temporary home and would like to help us care for a cat on their journey to their forever family, please get in touch. The more foster homes we have, the more cats we can save.

Adoption details
We try to make things very easy and straight forward while at the same time making sure we are matching the right cat to the right home.
The first step in the adoption process is a quick chat over the phone to make you are able meet the cats needs and your home is a good fit for the cats personality.
From there we will organize a meet and greet the cats foster home where you will be able to see the cat in action and get a gauge of their personality.
Once you have adopted you new furry feline friend we offer ongoing support and you are welcome to contact us anytime if you have questions, concerns or need advice.
We work hard to make sure that each cat is a good fit for their new home but in the unlikely even that things do not work out we have a 21 day cooling off period and you are more than welcome to return the cat to us during that time.
We will happily refund 50% of the adoption fee or you are welcome to donate this refund to assist with the ongoing cost of the animals care.
