About Whimsy
Meet Whimsy 💕
Whimsy is an absolutely gorgeous, adorable and joyful young girl with a playful spirit and an endless supply of love to give. She is full of personality and always ready for an adventure, a game or a cuddle.
Whimsy recently discovered that gravity is, unfortunately, still a thing after a rather ambitious leap off the couch resulted in a broken leg. She has since made a full recovery and, after many, many weeks of enforced rest, she is officially ready to get back to doing what she does best being a happy little whirlwind!
While Whimsy may be small and extremely fluffy, she's definitely not a lap dog who wants to sleep the day away. Yes, she absolutely loves a lap (and will happily climb onto yours whenever the opportunity presents itself), but underneath all that fluff is an energetic, playful little dog who is ready to get out and explore the world.
She's clever, eager to please and still learning about the world around her. With continued positive training and plenty of opportunities to use her brain and burn off some energy, she's going to make an incredible companion.
My Ideal Home
Whimsy would thrive with an active family who understands that small doesn't necessarily mean low-energy!
She loves to run, chase balls, play with her toys, explore and enjoy a good burst of zoomies before eventually settling down for what she loves almost as much ...snuggles.
She's incredibly affectionate and happiest when she's involved in whatever her people are doing. If you're relaxing on the couch, expect Whimsy to want to be right beside you or preferably on your lap!
Her ideal home will give her plenty of exercise, enrichment, playtime and ongoing training, while also allowing her to be part of family life.
Energy Level:
Very energetic, playful and ready for action!
After spending so many weeks on forced rest while her leg healed, Whimsy is very keen to make up for lost time. She's ready to explore, play, sniff, chase toys and generally make the most of being a young dog again.
She isn't a quiet little lap dog who will be content sleeping all day. She has plenty of energy and will need regular exercise and enrichment.
Once she's had the chance to burn off some of that enthusiasm, though, she transforms into an affectionate cuddle bug who loves nothing more than curling up beside her favourite humans.
Children:
Whimsy has been wonderful with children. Because she's young and excitable, she can enthusiastically throw herself into saying hello and demand attention with plenty of puppy exuberance!
She would be best suited to confident children who won't be overwhelmed by her energetic greetings and who understand how to interact appropriately with a young dog.
Other Dogs & Animals
Whimsy has met other dogs and has shown no signs of aggression. She can become very excited and vocal when meeting some smaller dogs because, in her mind, everyone is obviously there to play! She's still learning her doggy manners and how to contain her enthusiasm.
Around larger dogs, she can be a little more cautious initially before gaining confidence.
Whimsy hasn't been tested with cats, but she has lived around foster rabbits. Aside from the occasional curious glance and quietly watching what they're doing in their enclosure, she has shown no prey drive or aggression towards them. With slow introductions and sensible management, we believe she could potentially live successfully with cats or other small animals.
Whimsy also has a beautiful double coat that will need regular brushing and grooming. Thankfully, she's very cooperative and actually enjoys being groomed, making this an easy part of her routine.
And one final fun fact? Whimsy LOVES the rain. While most dogs are heading for cover, she'll happily be outside running around and having the time of her life.
Could Whimsy Be Your Perfect Match?
Whimsy is ready to put her couch-leaping incident firmly behind her and get back to living her best life!
She's looking for a family who wants a small dog with a big personality, plenty of energy and an enthusiasm for life. Someone who will take her on adventures, keep her entertained, continue her training and, importantly, remember that underneath all that fluff is an energetic young dog who wants to experience the world.
And when the adventures are over? Well, that's when the lap comes into play.
In return, you'll get a ridiculously cute, affectionate and hilarious little best friend who will fill your days with fun, cuddles, zoomies and plenty of reasons to smile. 💕
