About Shadow - 6 Year Old French Bulldog
Meet Shadow
Shadow is one of those special dogs who simply loves being with his people. He is affectionate, loyal and incredibly people-focused, and what makes him happiest is being included in family life. Whether he is playing fetch, enjoying a gentle walk, lounging beside you at home or curling up for a sleep, Shadow is happiest when his people are close.
One of Shadow’s biggest strengths is his love for children. He is wonderful with children of all ages and is incredibly patient, gentle and tolerant with them. He genuinely enjoys being around kids and people and would thrive in a home where he can be part of the family.
Shadow loves the simple things in life. He enjoys playing fetch, going for short walks and then settling down inside with his people. He is more than happy to lounge around the house and be part of whatever his family is doing.
He is crate trained and has previously slept happily in the laundry with access to a doggy door and the outside area. He is also very comfortable inside and loves being close to his people.
Shadow travels exceptionally well in the car. Even on long journeys, he is happy to settle down and sleep, making him the perfect companion for someone who enjoys taking their dog along with them.
Shadow does have some important requirements when it comes to animals. He needs to be the only pet in his home and is not suitable to live with pocket pets or livestock. He is also selective with other dogs and can be reactive when he sees another dog while out walking, so his new family will need to understand this and be comfortable managing his walks appropriately.
Health
Shadow has had BOAS surgery to improve his breathing and has no other known health issues. He also has no allergies whatsoever.
Shadow is looking for people who will love him, include him, understand him and give him the opportunity to be the wonderful companion he has the potential to be.
He doesn’t need anything complicated. He wants his people, a comfortable home, some playtime, a few little walks and the reassurance of knowing he belongs.
If you are looking for a devoted dog who adores people, loves children, enjoys a game of fetch and is happiest curled up beside his family, Shadow could be the boy you’ve been waiting for.
He has so much love to give, and now he just needs someone willing to give him the forever home he deserves.

He is in care in Newcastle, NSW, and is not available for adoption interstate. His adoption fee is $900 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, and microchipped.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to fill in our online Adoption Questionnaire:

(2) If the questionnaire is approved, we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've applied for.
(3) Next, we will arrange for you to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or at a nearby park.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay the adoption fee*, sign the NSW change of ownership form and our DRN Adoption Agreement and take your new family member home! The two week trial period begins on the day of adoption.
*We prefer payment by funds transfer and don't accept cash or personal cheques.
