About Doug
Have you ever looked at a dog and thought, "Wow, this guy really woke up every day and chose chaos"?
Meet Doug.
Doug is an 8-month-old Pointer whose hobbies include:
- Making friends with literally everyone
- Playing with other dogs
- Running at speeds that defy several laws of physics
- Keeping veterinary staff employed
In his very short life, Doug has somehow managed to fit in enough medical adventures to last most dogs a lifetime. First, he fractured his leg (rude). Then he swallowed a rock and required abdominal surgery because apparently rocks are not a balanced diet. Most recently, Doug developed IMPA (Immune Mediated Polyarthritis), a painful condition that caused inflammation throughout his joints due to an overenthusiastic immune response.
Thankfully, after an intensive course of treatment, Doug responded beautifully and has made an excellent recovery. Despite everything life has thrown at him, he remains convinced that every single day is the best day ever.
And honestly? We love that for him.
Doug is the canine equivalent of a double espresso chased with an energy drink. He is affectionate, social, enthusiastic, and permanently operating at approximately 110%. He would thrive in an active home that understands that "a quick walk around the block" is just Doug's warm-up routine.
He loves other dogs, adores people, and is ready to leave his medical dramas behind and focus on his true passion: being involved in absolutely everything you're doing, whether you asked for assistance or not.
We're genuinely not sure if Doug has nine lives, excellent health insurance, or simply the luck of the gods, but what we do know is that he deserves a family as big-hearted and adventurous as he is.
