About Walter
Walter is a male domestic short hair cat available for adoption in The Range (Rockhampton, Queensland).
Walter is an independent, cheeky young cat with a playful streak and an easygoing nature. He's low-maintenance, adventurous and happiest when he has plenty to explore.
He's also a cat with a big heart for dogs. Walter shares his home with two Rottweilers, and the three of them get along well.
A little about Walter:
🐾 Plays with the younger Rottweiler and keeps the older one good company
🐾 Finishes playtime by licking the dogs' heads
🐾 Loves his feather toys
🐾 Starts his day in the catio, then settles into an afternoon nap
🐾 Naps on the bed or the dog bed, wherever is comfiest
Walter's days have an easy flow. He starts the morning with some outdoor time in his catio, then comes inside for an afternoon nap.
Depending on the day, he'll do some people-watching from indoors, or head back out for a play before dinner. Then it's time for another nap on the dog bed.
He's a self-assured guy who likes to do things his way. He's happy in his own company as well as yours, which makes him a wonderfully low-maintenance housemate. Walter will come to you when he wants attention, and he's fine with a cuddle.
He shows he likes you by lying down next to you. It's a quiet, relaxed kind of affection.
With new people, Walter takes a thoughtful approach. He likes to keep his distance until he feels comfortable, and some quiet encouragement helps him come out and say hello.
Feather toys are a great way to bring out his cheeky, playful side.
A calm household where he can take his time is where Walter will flourish. He'd love a home with outdoor access, such as a catio, so he can keep enjoying his outdoor time.
He's used to living alongside big dogs, so a home with dogs could be a great match. He'll suit a guardian who appreciates independence and a bit of cheek.
Picture a morning with Walter out in his catio, soaking up the day. An afternoon where he's stretched across the bed, having a nap. An evening where he's batting at a feather toy, and then curling up beside you.
Walter is an independent, playful and good-natured cat, ready to bring his easygoing company to a calm home of his own.

Adoption details
When enquiring about a pet listed with Home2Home, your enquiry goes directly to the pet’s guardian—the person who knows them best!
From here, the guardian will be in touch to learn more about you and chat with you about their pet. It’s a great opportunity for you to ask any questions you may have about the pet, including its likes and dislikes, needs, and how it may fit into your lifestyle and family.
If your home and lifestyle match the pet's needs, the next step will be arranging a meet-and-greet to make sure everyone is happy to proceed with a formal adoption.
Following the adoption, change of ownership paperwork will be completed, and proof of vaccination, microchipping, and desexing (if applicable, as indicated on the listing) will be provided.
All pets adopted through Home2Home will require an adoption contract to be signed and an adoption fee to be paid. The pet’s guardian will complete the adoption contract with you and provide a link to PetRescue’s secure payment portal for completing the adoption fee payment.
Home2Home currently operates a ‘pay what you choose’ system for cat adoption fees. This means that adopters will be able to choose an adoption fee amount that is suitable for them. All adoption fees are used to support PetRescue's life-saving programs, including Home2Home.
