About Bruce
🐾 **MEET BRUCE – LOOKING FOR HIS PERSON** 🐾
Bruce is a **three-year-old Poodle × Staffy × Cavalier King Charles Spaniel mix** — and yes, he's DNA tested! 😂
Bruce is a funny, affectionate and incredibly loyal boy who has so much to offer the right person.
He **absolutely loves other dogs** and thrives at doggy daycare. Give Bruce some canine friends and he is in his element. 🐕❤️
He's also a beautifully mannered boy. Bruce has **excellent lead manners**, travels well, settles perfectly in his crate and knows how to switch off when it's time to relax.
When he was younger, Bruce worked with a dog trainer through **Nathalia Boarding Kennels**, which gave him a fantastic foundation.
Bruce can also happily be part of everyday life. Take him out for a walk, bring him along for an outing or let him curl up underneath the table while you have a coffee at a café.
He doesn't need to be kept away from the world.
**He just needs the world to leave him alone.**
Bruce isn't interested in meeting every person who walks past. He doesn't want strangers leaning over him, reaching out for a pat or deciding that because he's sitting quietly, they should say hello.
Bruce would much rather sit peacefully beside his person and watch the world go by.
And that's where **his person** comes in.
Bruce needs someone who will advocate for him. Someone who won't feel awkward saying:
**“Please just ignore him — he doesn't want a pat.”**
He needs to trust that his human will manage those interactions so that **Bruce doesn't have to**.
Give him that security and Bruce can simply get on with being Bruce.
And for his person?
**He will be an absolute saint.**
He's loving, loyal, clever and happiest when he knows where he stands. He doesn't need more professional training or someone determined to “fix” him. He needs a dog-savvy person who can read him, respect his boundaries and provide the consistency that makes him feel safe.
Bruce can display **protective and resource-guarding behaviours at home**, so his new person does need to understand and respect this.
We're looking for a **child-free home**, and Bruce isn't suitable to live with cats or small animals.
Other dogs, though?
**Bruce LOVES them.** ❤️
Bruce isn't the dog who wants to work the room and make friends with everybody.
He's the dog who will walk beautifully beside you, happily spend the day with his doggy friends, settle quietly underneath your café table, snooze contentedly in his crate and then come home with **his person**.
He doesn't need everybody to love him.
He doesn't need everybody to touch him.
**He just needs one person who understands that keeping him safe means sometimes saying “no” for him.**
Be Bruce's advocate, respect his boundaries and give him the security of knowing you've got his back.
**In return, you'll get one incredibly loyal boy who will think the absolute world of you.** ❤️🐾
