🐾IRON DOG RESCUE – ASSISTED REHOMING | ZEUS 🐾
💙 ZEUS | 3 YEARS | ROTTWEILER | MALE | DESEXED 💙
Sometimes life changes in ways we never expect, and having to let go of a beloved dog can be heartbreaking. Zeus’s family absolutely adore him, but due to serious health issues, his owner is no longer physically able to provide the walking and ongoing training Zeus needs.
Zeus is a beautiful-natured, affectionate and loyal boy who simply loves being around his people. He loves a pat and scratch, enjoys running around with you and is happiest when he feels part of the family. ❤️
He has lived with young children, including a two-year-old, and has been described as gentle, friendly and very loving with children. He has also lived with a cat and was happy to simply coexist with him.
🐾 A few important things his new family needs to know:
Zeus is a young Rottweiler who still has plenty of energy and needs someone committed to continuing his training and providing him with appropriate exercise.
He is reactive to other dogs when on lead and can pull strongly when he sees one, wanting to get over and say hello. He has not been allowed to interact directly with other dogs while walking, so his behaviour with dogs off lead is unknown. His owner does believe he could potentially live with another dog, but this would need to be assessed carefully and introduced correctly.
Zeus can also be protective of his food and has growled when people have approached his food. This will need to be managed responsibly, particularly around children.
He can be a little jumpy when greeting people and may rear up on his back legs to say hello, but responds to commands such as “down.”
He knows his basic obedience including sit, stay, heel, down, leave it and drop it, but would really benefit from someone who enjoys training and can build on what he already knows.
✨ Zeus is also a very unique-looking boy. He has vitiligo, giving him pink colouring around his jawline and eyes, along with some white patches on his face, ear tips and body. It doesn’t affect him — it simply adds to his individuality. ❤️
🏡 What we are looking for:
A committed Rottweiler-experienced home who understands the breed and is prepared to continue Zeus’s training, provide him with plenty of appropriate exercise and work patiently with his lead reactivity.
Someone who will see beyond his imperfections and appreciate the loving, loyal and affectionate boy underneath.
