About Barry - 16 Month Old Pomeranian X
Meet Barry, the 16 month old 5kg Pomeranian X little pocket rocket that will keep you entertained all day long. He is a perfect mix of a timid, sweet but mischievous and cheeky little man. Your socks and underwear are not safe around Barry, he will nip off with these items if given half the chance! He gets the zoomies regularly and will have you constantly smiling and laughing at his funny little personality.
While Barry is a very active cheeky little boy, he is so sweet and will be your shadow 24/7. He loves curling up on the couch by his human where he feels safe. Wherever you are, you can expect a pair of beady little eyes fixed on you or a little wet nose touching the back of your leg at all times.
Barry is still showing some signs of being in his ‘puppy era’ and is partial to a chew of things here and there. His primary targets are mostly his toys but if left alone for lengthy periods can become bored and target other household items. He is a very playful, energetic little man and would greatly benefit from a young, friendly playmate.
Barry’s favourite things in life are toys, rolling in the grass, toys, cuddles, toys, playing with his four-legged foster siblings, toys, walks/zoomies... oh and TOYS! Barry will empty the entire toy box and test every single one until he finds the perfect toy to play with in that moment.
Barry will need his new family to be patient and allow him time to settle into his new home. Once you have his trust you’ll have an abundance of cuddles, love and affection. Barry took comfort in his dog foster siblings and would ideally have another friendly four-legged sibling/s to show him the ropes and help his confidence in his new family.
Barry sleeps through the night in his foster mum's bed curled up as close as possible. He is a good boy in the car although he is not fond of it and can shake and has been carsick a couple of times. He is almost fully toilet trained with a doggy door. He loves going for walks/exploring and walks very well on the lead.
Barry is a fast learner; he learnt to use a doggy door within a day, his recall is very good and has learnt to sit on command for his food. Barry is quite a fussy eater. He eats very small amounts and sometimes only once a day. He is currently on a homecooked fresh food diet and needs a fresh food diet in his forever home. He’ll need a family who will continue this and be patient with him.
Barry has lovely soft fur with an adorable curl that looks like he’s just been to the salon for a perm! Just like any Pomeranian he will need consistent grooming/brushing to keep him happy and healthy.
Barry is comfortable around adults once he feels safe however, was very scared of the children he met so needs a home with dog savvy children over 12 years old. He would be ok with part time workers as long as he has a doggy friend and enrichment to keep him busy. He’s not tested with cats/birds/pocket pets.
Barry is desexed, vaccinated and treated for fleas, ticks and intestinal worms. He is in care in Dungog, NSW, and is available for adoption to New South Wales and the ACT (no flights). His adoption fee is $900.
