About Heidi
🚨FOSTER TO ADOPT 🚨
🐾 Meet Miss Heidi 🐾
Heidi has tested positive for heartworm.
The good news? It’s treatable, it’s not contagious, and Village Tails will cover the cost of her treatment. ❤️
What Heidi needs now is someone willing to stand beside her while she gets better. Someone who can give her a safe, loving home where she can rest, recover and know she is finally safe.
She doesn’t need saving from heartworm — our vets will take care of that. She needs saving from facing it alone.
Heidi would be fostered with her adoption finalised once her treatment is complete.
There will be periods during treatment when she needs to take it very easy and stay relatively quiet, particularly after certain injections, so this does require commitment.
But in return? You get to be the person who was there for Heidi when she needed someone most. ❤️🐾
This beautiful girl is really coming into her own and discovering just how much fun life can be. She’s now doing zoomies around the backyard, loves playing with her foster sister Penny and has discovered that toys are VERY exciting — especially ropes!
The squeaky ones, well, Heidi isn’t quite convinced about those yet. 😂
Heidi has also become a total snuggle monster. Her favourite place in the world is curled up on the couch with her head resting in your lap. ❤️
She’s a lovely girl to take out and about and travels well in the car, enjoying a little adventure. She’s also great on lead and is curious about the resident cat… but thankfully not that curious — there’s no chasing happening here!
Heidi is fantastic with teenagers. She hasn’t been tested with younger children, but given her enthusiasm and occasional bouncy moments, we think older kids would be the better fit.
At night, Heidi sleeps happily on the couch and has been completely accident-free. She does, however, have one very strong opinion…
She absolutely LOATHES her crate.
So if you were hoping for a crate-loving dog, Heidi would like to formally withdraw her application!
She is incredibly quick to learn and is already mastering her manners. She can sit, wait and shake paws, and we’re continuing to work on her recall.
Heidi is a clever, affectionate girl who is becoming more confident every day. She loves her people, enjoys a good adventure, adores a cuddle and is proving to be a wonderfully fun companion.
Now she just needs someone who will continue helping her blossom and show her that life if pretty wonderful. 🏡❤️

How to Adopt: A Step-By-Step Guide:
1. Browse Our Selection: Visit our Animals page and use the menu to view the various pets we have available. Choose between cats and dogs to narrow your search.
2. Expression of Interest: Found a pet that captures your heart? Reach out to us for an Expression of Interest (EOI) form to initiate the process.
3. Patience is a Virtue: We meticulously review every EOI to ensure each animal goes to the right home. Thank you for your patience during this critical stage.
4. Meet Your Potential Pet: If your EOI is approved, we'll organise a Meet & Greet session. It’s a great opportunity for both you and the animal to see if it’s a perfect match.
5. Adoption Application & Home Review: If you're ready to move forward, you'll need to complete our adoption application and agree to a home review.
6. Review & Approval: Your application and home review will be assessed to guarantee a secure, loving environment for your potential pet.
7. Adoption Fee: Upon approval, you'll be required to pay the non-negotiable adoption fee. This fee directly supports our animal care efforts.
8. Welcome Home: Once the fee is processed, we'll coordinate the special day when you can bring your new pet home.
