About Eddie
Eddie has only been with me for a short time, having come from another carer. In that short time, I’ve already discovered quite a bit about this lovely boy — including the fact that he is very fixated on cockatiels which is why he had to move! 😂
That’s okay though… not everyone has birds, and I certainly don’t! So we’re looking for a home where Eddie can happily leave the cockatiel obsession behind.
I affectionately call him “the old man”, but don’t let the grey fool you. Eddie still has plenty of energy and absolutely loves tearing around the yard. In just one week he has:
🐾 Played and lived happily with two other dogs
🐾 Gone on daily walks
🐾 Enjoyed a couple of car rides
🐾 Had his first bath — and was an excellent boy!
🐾 Entertained himself with his toys
Eddie loves his walks and walks very nicely with his two doggy mates. And car rides? He thinks they’re fantastic, especially when his carer puts the windows down so he can feel the wind in his hair. ❤️
🦷 A little bit about his health
All the work Eddie needed before adoption was completed with his previous carer, including having some teeth extracted. He is currently having firmer meat morning and evening while his mouth finishes healing. There is only one small area left that needs a little more time to fully heal.
🏡 What is Eddie like?
Eddie is a lovely little character. He is quite capable of self-occupying with his toys, but he is also a bit of a busybody and likes to know what’s going on around him.
He will bark at people going past and can sometimes be quite loud. I suspect some of this is because he is still settling in.
At the moment Eddie is in limbo — learning the routine of one home before hopefully moving into his forever home. Once he knows where he belongs and what his daily routine looks like, there is every chance he will settle beautifully.
Eddie is not a jumpy dog, which makes me think he could potentially live with children 6+ who understands how to interact appropriately with dogs.
I don't think apartment living would suit Eddie. He would be much happier in a house with a secure yard, or even better, a larger block or acreage where he can potter around, explore and generally get into everything a busy little man needs to investigate! 😂
In a short time he has already shown me that underneath that distinguished grey face is a fun, energetic and affectionate little character. We even play ball and he fetches and returns well.
He deserves a home where he can finally settle, learn his routine and know that he is home for good. 🩵
Could you be Eddie’s forever home? 🐾
