About Misda Bissketts
Bissketts is the kind of kitten who needs you to look past the hiss and notice what happens next.
At only six months old, he's still figuring out whether the world is safe, and when he feels unsure his first instinct is to make himself small, hide away or give a defensive little hiss. But that initial reaction isn't the whole story.
With a predictable, gentle approach, Bissketts has already shown how much he can soften. He'll take treats, lean into head scratches, roll, knead and eventually start purring once he realises nobody is going to rush him. In foster care, it took him a couple of days to settle, and once comfortable he would sometimes sit on his foster carer's lap, make biscuits and quietly enjoy being close. He's also playful in his own way, with simple stick toys being a favourite.
Bissketts is still a sensitive little guy. He may hide when someone comes home or when visitors arrive, and he isn't the kind of cat who wants constant handling or attention. What works best is giving him space, keeping interactions calm and letting trust build naturally. The more predictable and safe things feel, the more of his gentle personality starts to appear.
For such a young cat, he's already made really encouraging progress. He doesn't need someone expecting an instant cuddle bug. He needs someone patient enough to let him decide when he's ready, and who will appreciate every little milestone along the way.
Bissketts is part of our Rescue or Rehome program, where we are committed to finding homes for cats and kittens who simply cannot cope in the shelter environment.
