About Bobby 🐼 Maltese x Shih Tzu
Bobby is a 12-year-old Maltese x Shih Tzu but no one can believe his age. Even the vet questioned it. Bobby is active, curious and not ready to retire from being a companion dog any time soon! He is in very good health, walks briskly, he has had a dental cleaning and isn’t on any medication.
🌞 He’s so cute, people often stop us on our walks to admire him and give him a little pat. I think he looks like a little panda cub.
🎉 Bobby Loves:
• Walks! He walks beautifully on lead and is curious to meet people and dogs.
• Back scratches and belly rubs.
• Food and treats.
• Hard chews such as pig’s ears, bully sticks and raw bones.
• Using the doggie door to go in the backyard to keep an eye on everything.
• Sitting next to you and following you around the house.
💝 More About Bobby.
• This fluffy little guy is non-shedding so he’s good for people with allergies. He needs professional grooming approximately every 6 to 8 weeks.
• He is small, weighing only 5kgs. His birthday is 13 April 2014.
• He loves being with you but doesn’t need to be on top of you all the time, just near you.
• He’s an indoor dog.
• Housetraining is good but not perfect. If he can’t go out the door he uses a pee pad.
• Will bark to let you know when people walk past.
• Bobby likes to be picked up only when he’s ready. Therefore, he’s not suited to young children or anyone who doesn’t respect his boundaries.
• He hasn’t been tested with cats or pocket pets.
• Bobby gets along with the other dogs in his foster home but occasionally they have an argument about highly valued treats. Bobby would be great as an only dog but could live with a very placid dog.
• He’s fine left home alone as long as he’s safely indoors.
🏡 Bobby’s ideal home:
• A quiet household without a lot of children or strangers coming and going.
• Lives on a street without a stream of people and dogs walking past frequently throughout the day.
• Will be understanding of a few housetraining accidents during the first couple of weeks while he settles in.
• Someone who will take him for a daily walk.
• Someone who will provide back scratches and belly rubs.
• Someone who wants an adoring little friend to keep them company on walks and around the house.
🐶 Bobby was surrendered last year due to a family breakdown. He got adopted but then had to come back into care last month when his new Mum broke her hip. Bobby’s not giving up on finding love again💕! Small dogs like him often live to 17 years so he still has plenty of time with his new people.
⭐️ Bobby is in foster care in Charlestown, NSW (Lake Macquarie). He is available for adoption to NSW and ACT. His adoption fee is $400 and he is desexed, vaccinated, vet checked, healthy, free of fleas and worms, microchipped and registered.
