Looking for foster care
About Maple
Beautiful Maple is a 2-year-old German Shepherd who is looking for someone special to show her that the world really isn’t such a scary place. And just look at those adorable little kissing ears! 🥰🐾
Maple is a gentle, sweet-natured girl who can initially be timid around new people and unfamiliar situations. She isn’t the type of dog who will necessarily throw herself into your arms the first time you meet her, but give her patience, kindness and time, and you’ll see the sweet natured girl she really is.
And there’s one thing that really helps Maple come out of her shell is other dogs.
Put Maple with a friendly, confident dog and you start to see a completely different side of her. She loves running around the yard, joining in play sessions, chasing her canine friends and playing with toys. Watching her relax, have fun and simply enjoy being a dog is absolutely beautiful.
For this reason, we feel Maple could really benefit from having a confident, social canine companion in her new home especially one who can help show her the way and continue building her confidence.
Maple occasionally can be jumpy when she gets excited, so an adult-only home with an experienced German Shepherd owner would suit her best.
What Maple needs most is someone who won’t rush her. Someone prepared to give her structure, gentle guidance, positive experiences and the time she needs to settle and trust.
Sometimes the dogs who need a little extra patience are the ones who make the biggest impression on our hearts.
We always recommend to continue training when you take your dog home. Training doesn’t have to be a chore – it can be a fun experience for you both, it doesn’t have to take long and is a great way for you to bond with your new dog.
Maple is currently available for adoption in NSW, ACT, Queensland and Victoria. If you're interested in making her a cherished member of your family, you'll need to drive with your loved ones to meet her. Should she, for any reason, not be the perfect fit for your family, you would be responsible for either bringing her back to Willow Tree or help us rehome her from your home.
If Maple sounds like the perfect match for your household, click on the "Enquire about Maple" link, and we will send you some information about adopting a German Shepherd, or go to our website and complete the application form.

Adoption details
We have an Adoptions Manager who screens all prospective candidates as to their suitability to adopt a German Shepherd Dog.
We try to contact every one by phone but if that isn't successful we will email our application form to you, which needs to be completed and returned, or you can call us back and we can chat and complete for you. We will also ask you to provide photos of your yard and fencing to enable us to see where the dog will be kept and that they have areas of shade and shelter.
All our dogs are ready to go to their new home, so when you enquire about a dog you must be in a position to take them into your home. We are unable to hold a dog while you fix your fences or go on holiday, etc.
The successful candidate who adopts one of our dogs is provided with an information kit, ongoing support, training and advice on all aspects of feeding, training and general assistance to ensure both the new owner and our rescued dog settle into their home.
