About Cody
Country boy seeks forever couch
Cody is a gentle and easygoing boy who has been enjoying life on the country side with his wonderful foster family. He is calm and relaxed around adults and children. He also gets along beautifully with dogs of all sizes. His time in the countryside has made him comfortable around farm animals and the kinds of loud sounds that come with rural living, including trucks, tools and even thunderstorms. He truly takes things in his stride.
Inside the home, Cody is respectful. He is toilet trained, settles well through the night and has shown no destructive behaviour at all. Household appliances like the washing machine, hair dryer and vacuum cleaner do not bother him one bit, and he is perfectly content to snooze while the TV or radio plays in the background. He does tend to avoid stairs, so a home with minimal steps would suit him best.
Cody can be a bit of a fussy eater, but he is calm at mealtimes and has no concerns about you being near his food bowl.
One thing that stands out about Cody is just how much he loves company. He is happiest when his people are close by. He would thrive in a home where someone is around for most of the day to share the couch with him.
Having spent most of his time on the farm, he simply has not had much practice on the lead yet. He will need some patient training to learn his walking manners. The good news is that he is not fussed about loud noises which gives him a solid foundation to build on. When it comes to car travel, he needs a hand getting in, but once he is settled he lies down and relaxes nicely. Short trips are best for now as longer journeys may be a bit much for him.
Cody's experience and comfort on the farm make him a good fit for a family seeking a calm, easygoing companion in a countryside home.
Cody is not cat or pocket pet tolerant.

Adoption details
Our greyhounds live in foster homes until they find their adoption home. This introduces them to pet life, toilet-training and they learn how to behave inside the home as well as all the new experiences they get on their daily walks. Many spend time in a home with another dog, children and a few sometimes with a cat.
As a safety net for greyhounds who may not otherwise have a chance at finding a forever home, we do our very best to find the right home to match our greyhounds' needs. If you are interested in Greyhound Adoption or Greyhound Fostering, please complete our On-line Application to help us understand more about you and recommend whether the dog you are applying for matches your lifestyle.
