🐾 Meet Archie
Archie is a gorgeous Japanese Spitz with a wonderfully calm, relaxed and affectionate nature.

He is such an easy boy to have around. Archie loves being with his people and enjoys being included in family life, but he isn't demanding or constantly on the go. He is just as happy spending time beside you, having a cuddle and settling in for a snooze.

Archie is a very affectionate boy and absolutely loves attention. Belly rubs are his favourite, and when he's a little unsure in a new environment, he simply likes to sit close to his person for some reassurance. Once he's settled, he takes things in his stride and is a happy, relaxed companion.

He has come from a home with young children and is a lovely family dog. Archie enjoys meeting people and is dog social.

He's also a great dog to take out and about. Archie enjoys his two daily walks and is a well-mannered boy on lead. He's not looking for an incredibly active lifestyle — he would be just as happy having his walk and then coming home to relax with his family.

Archie enjoys his food but is polite and doesn't scoff. He's very responsive to treats, making positive reinforcement a great way to continue his training.

Archie can live with another dog with the right introduction, although we think he may particularly enjoy being the only dog in the home. He loves having his people close and would happily soak up all the attention for himself.

He has no aggression towards cats, but he does think chasing them is great fun, so a home without cats would be the best fit.

🧡 A beautiful fluffy boy

As a Japanese Spitz, Archie has the gorgeous white double coat the breed is known for. That beautiful coat does require some maintenance, but Archie makes grooming easy.

A quick brush each day helps prevent mats and keeps his coat looking its best, and Archie happily snoozes while he's being brushed. He'll also need regular deshedding, particularly when he is blowing his coat.

Japanese Spitz have a thick double coat that provides natural insulation, so shaving isn't recommended.

🏡 What Archie is looking for

Archie is looking for a home where he can be part of the family, receive lots of love and have someone who appreciates a quiet, affectionate and easy-going companion.
His toilet training is still a work in progress, so his new family will need to continue working on this with him.

He can be left for a few hours and is comfortable relaxing while his people are out. When you're home, though, Archie would much rather be right there with you.

Archie really is a lovely boy. He's calm, gentle, affectionate and incredibly easy to enjoy. He'll happily go for a walk with you, happily settle at home with you and, most importantly, he'll be very happy simply being your dog.
