About Thor
When meeting Thor there are no surprises. He is your typical Kelpie pup.
He has bursts of energy and playfulness and then is happy to chill for a bit.
Thor’s two loves are his people and other dogs. He enjoys following his person around while they are working in the yard, he may “help” with the gardening but is also happy to lay in the sun and watch you work. Thor will need another dog in the home to play with, when not with his people he can be found playing with other dogs, his play can get a little rough (never with aggression) so he will need a dog with similar energy levels, not a pup or senior.
Thor’s hobbies are tug, playing in water, zoomies and stealing the odd sock that has been left unattended, he will also chase birds in the yard and has shown a bit of interest in chooks.
Thor is still only young and has a lot to learn, he is smart and learns quickly. When he is excited he can be a bit jumpy but with reminders he soon settles. He has been around children and although he is excitable he did settle.
Thor is a great buddy and is happy to jump in the car and join his people on adventures. At the moment he is travelling in a crate in the car. Thor enjoys going for walks on lead but will need continued training to walk nicely on a loose leash and to ignore birds, kids on bikes, traffic etc.
Thor does well and most of the time toilets outside but in a new home it may take him some time to learn where to go and how to ask to be let outside.
Training is easy with Thor being food motivated, he can sit and shake hands and understands when you say “no” he should stop what he is doing.
Thor can live with cats, he wishes them no harm, he will try and play with them but can be rough.
Thor needs the following in his new home:
- A large yard or property.
- Another desexed playful dog in the home, over 1 years old and under 7 years old.
- An energetic lifestyle, with plenty of walks and training to keep his mind active.
- To have the option to spend time with his family inside the home and to sleep inside overnight.
- Good secure fencing.
- Continued training.

Adoption details
Please note- we do not work on a first in best dressed basis. We assess all applications to choose the home that we believe will best match the animals needs.
If you believe one of our animals would be a good match for your home, please send us a detailed email with some information about the people and any other animals in your home, as well as the type of lifestyle you can offer a new rescue pet.
We are volunteers who run the rescue around families, paid employment and other commitments so your patience is appreciated.
We do require you to travel to meet the animal you are looking to adopt. For dog adoptions, any other dogs in your home must attend the meet and greet, this enables us to assess their compatibility and helps prevent them being returned and creating more confusion/insecurities for the foster animal.
We reserve the right to refuse the adoption if we don't believe it's a good match for our animals.
All our animals are available for a fully refundable 2 week trial period. If you ever find yourself unable to care for, or keep your pet, please contact us and they will come back into our care, or we will do our best to assist you in finding them a suitable new home, this is a condition that you agree to when signing our Adoption Agreement.
