Meet Mira, a much-loved young family dog who has come into care very reluctantly following a council crackdown on dog numbers in suburban homes.

Mira is an exceptionally sweet, gentle girl with a soft and submissive nature. There is not an aggressive bone in her body. She is, however, quite timid with unfamiliar people and with the wider world, and she needs a family who will give her time to settle and allow her confidence to grow at her own pace.

Once Mira feels safe, her lovely personality begins to emerge. She is very dog friendly and we think she could thrive with a calm, confident canine companion to show her the ropes.

Mira has spent almost all of her life indoors and is very much a house dog. She is house-trained, crate-trained and already knows her basic obedience. She is good with children and has previously lived around cats without issue, provided they are happy to give her some space.

She is comfortable on lead once settled, although she still needs patient, positive exposure to walks, new places and everyday experiences. This is not a dog who needs to be pushed — she needs someone kind enough to let her confidence develop naturally.

✂️ DEFERRED DESEXING PROGRAM

Mira will be adopted under ARK’s Deferred Desexing Program. Her successful adopter will be required to sign the Deferred Desexing Agreement, ensure she does not breed and arrange for her desexing within the required timeframe. Her adoption fee covers the cost of desexing when age appropriate, subject to terms & conditions.

🚗 INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS

ARK welcomes suitable interstate applications for Mira. We regularly adopt dogs to homes throughout Australia and can assist successful applicants with information and quotes for road transport through our regular pet transport providers. Transport costs are the responsibility of the adopter. As interstate adopters may not have the opportunity to meet Mira beforehand, we will provide as much information as possible to help ensure the placement is a good and permanent match.
