About Winston
If you’re looking for a gentle, affectionate little shadow to fill your home with purrs, Winston might just be your boy.
Winston is an incredibly sweet, cuddly soul who absolutely adores being close to his humans. He can be a little unsure when he first arrives somewhere new, but give him a few quiet days, some patience and plenty of reassurance, and you’ll get to watch his beautiful personality emerge a little more each day.
Once Winston feels safe, cuddle time is serious business. He particularly loves when his humans are sitting or lying down — that’s his cue to come over for affection. While he may not technically be a lap cat, he’ll happily stick to you like Velcro, often resting a paw, his head, or sometimes both on your arm while filling the room with his wonderfully calming purr.
Winston is a quiet boy with the sweetest little meow and is almost always purring. He loves head pats, greeting his favourite people with an adorable head bop, rolling around during playtime and keeping a very important watch over the neighbours, trees and passing world from his favourite window.
And then there’s his blep. Winston is missing one of his front canine teeth, which means his little tongue has a habit of making an appearance — giving him an almost permanent blep and an extra bit of character that is very hard not to fall in love with.
The quickest ways to Winston’s heart? Cuddles and treats. Give him both and you’ll have a devoted little companion who simply wants to be near you.
Winston can be startled by loud noises, so his perfect home will be a calm, quieter household with people who are happy to give him the time and gentleness he needs to settle in at his own pace. In return, they’ll get to experience the absolute joy of watching this initially cautious boy blossom into the affectionate, playful and loving companion he truly is.
Winston isn’t looking for the loudest home or the busiest one — he’s looking for his safe place, his favourite window, and humans he can stick to like Velcro. 🤍
Medical notes
Winston has a history of moderate to severe halitosis (bad breath), despite only mild gingivitis being noted on examination. This may be consistent with a mild form of gingivostomatitis, or Winston may simply be more predisposed to dental disease. Winston underwent a dental procedure, including dental extractions, on 11 August 2026. Due to his dental history, Winston will require an appropriate dental diet and ongoing monitoring of his oral health. His adopter should arrange regular veterinary dental checks, as he may require further dental treatment in the future. By adopting Winston, you acknowledge his dental history and accept responsibility for his ongoing dental care and any associated veterinary costs.
Adoption details
All animals adopted through Out of the Woods Rescue are desexed, vaccinated, microchipped, flea/worm treated and health-checked. We aim to match each animal with a home that suits their needs and personality.
Here’s how our adoption process works:
Submit an application – This helps us get to know you, your household and what you're looking for in a pet.
Phone chat – If your application looks like a potential fit, one of our team members will contact you for a casual phone conversation to answer questions and discuss the animal in more detail.
Meet and greet – You’ll meet the animal in their foster home or another agreed location. If everyone agrees it’s a good match, we can proceed to adoption.
Adoption paperwork and payment – Our adoption fees cover desexing, microchipping, vaccination and parasite treatment.
Once adopted, the animal becomes part of your family. We're still here for post-adoption support if you ever need any help.
We’re committed to ethical adoptions and reserve the right to decline applications if we feel the match isn’t in the best interest of the animal.
