About Phantom
Please only apply for this greyhound if you have:
- Lots of love to give this gorgeous gal!
- An ability to sing Phantom of the Opera duets is definitely a bonus!
Meet Phantom, a beautiful moo (black and white) hound with lots of personality. With stunning markings and an affectionate nature, she is looking for a home who will appreciate her sweet, easygoing and silly vibe.
Phantom walks well on lead and enjoys two 20-30min walks per day - but she would be happy to walk for longer if you’d like to get your steps in. She has a pep in her step upon leaving the house but quickly settles in to a relaxed pace, stopping for the occasional sniff and toilet break. She has enjoyed meeting dogs of all sizes while out and about and is happy to give a quick sniff and be on her merry way - she loves people and it’s always a bonus if she gets a pat! She is a confident girl and is not phased by traffic noise or bicycles. She loves joining her greyhound foster brother on his weekly group walks with big and little hounds.
In between her morning and after work walks, she can often be found sleeping upside down on her bed or occasionally up on the couch - usually with her tongue poking out. She is a clever girl and responds well to getting “uppy up” off the couch and to “on your bed” to wait for treats or to go to bed at night. She sleeps soundly through the night and waits until her foster family is awake to get out of bed in the morning.
Phantom is a playful pooch and has loved discovering the wonders of the toy basket (squeaky toys are her favourite!) and will do goofy little spins as she tosses her toys around. Her foster home has a small backyard and she’d love a home with a yard to sniff, soak up the sun, and stretch her legs with the occasional spin or zoomie. She is fully toilet trained and will let you know when she needs to go out to the yard to toilet.
Phantom has been in foster with a relaxed older male greyhound and has been very respectful of his space. She politely and patiently waits for him to have dinner before she is given hers. We think she would be fine as a solo dog or with a calm mature greyhound pal.
She is a smoochy girl and loves to be pat - when it feels extra good her tail spins around like a windmill - but is also happy to give you space. She has done well being left at home for a few hours at a time while her foster family is out of the house, and we think she would be comfortable with longer stretches alone with continued practice. She has happily welcomed visitors in her foster home and has lapped up the attention from houseguests, understanding that more hands = more pats!
Phantom travels well in the car. She does need some initial encouragement to hop in, but once she’s in the back seat she settles quickly and hops out easily, ready to explore her surroundings.
Phantom will make a wonderful and loving companion - she has been a dream in foster care and we are excited for her to continue to flourish in pet life!
