About Ziva
Introducing Ziva, a gorgeous Spaniel X with a heart of gold and a real zest for life. This girl loves people and will follow you around as you go about the house then lie quietly at your feet when you are resting; she also loves to be on your lap getting a pat and cuddle. This special girl was surrendered from a remote part of the Northern Territory and she has quickly adjusted to life in suburbia after arriving in Cairns on 23 September, 2026.
Miss Ziva is classed as a small dog but she is not tiny. In keeping with the characteristics of the Spaniel breeds, she is smaller than medium size and weighs about 12 kilograms. Her shiny jet black fur is as soft as silk and her bushy tail is constantly wagging. There was limited availability for professional grooming where Ziva came from so when she came into care she was quite shaggy. (See photo with profile) She will need regular grooming but she has visited a local groomer and is now looking fabulous. At 4+ years of age (DOB 24/12/2022) Ziva has outgrown potential puppy naughtiness and she a lot to offer the right household who can give her the attention she was lacking in her previous home.
Lulu is a no fuss girl and eats a variety of food. She has been in care with other dogs, male and female, and gets along well with all of them but she would also be happy as an only dog as long as she is not left by herself for long periods. Ziva rarely barks and is a happy and gentle soul. Ziva loves going for walks and walks gently on a loose lead. She has excellent recall, will sit on command and loves playing fetch.
Although she loves exploring the garden, Ziva is predominantly an inside dog and not one to be left alone in the yard for long periods; she needs to be included in family life as she is very gregarious and loves pleasing her people. In summary, this little girl is affectionate, loyal and playful and will be a great family pet.
