About Pepper
๐พ PEPPER โ Sugar & Spice & All Things Nice ๐พ
Pepper is the sweetest little lady I have met. She is gentle, mostly quiet, and absolutely loves being your shadow. As I write this, she is curled up under the desk by my feet. โค๏ธ
I donโt know if you would call her clingy โ I prefer to think she just likes being close to her person! There are four adults in this house and, thankfully, someone is usually home, but Pepper knows I am her carer and likes to keep me in sight.
When Pepper first arrived, she had a few health issues. She was desexed and then developed a nasty infection, which thankfully has now completely cleared. I knew she was really unwell when she went and sat quietly in the garden in her little โsafe spotโ under a plant, avoiding us. It was heartbreaking to watch.
Now that she is feeling so much better, I have finally seen two lots of zoomies! ๐ And that tells me we are starting to see the happy little dog underneath everything she has been through.
Everywhere I take Pepper, people comment on how sweet she is. She arrived looking a little raggedy, so I shouted her a first groom, and from the groomer to my friends, everyone has fallen in love with her. ๐ So much so that I seriously considered adopting her myself!
But then I wouldn't be able to help any more dogs โ and therein lies the problem! ๐
Pepper is a beautiful little soul and I know there is a wonderful home out there waiting for her, where she will be loved and cherished.
I believe Pepper may have had a bit of a hard life. She can still be scared of her own shadow and is quite sensitive to noises, although this has already settled down considerably. She loves her walks and gets just as excited as my dog Ziggy when it is time to go out. They both compete to have their leads put on! ๐
Pepper walks extremely well on the lead and is an absolute pleasure to walk. And I have to say, it is rather lovely having a female dog to walk โ none of the stop, sniff, start routine that male dogs seem to specialize in! ๐
There has only been one little run-in between Pepper and my Ziggy, and that was over food. The two dogs don't play together, but they happily coexist and don't fight.
Food is something we are still working on with Pepper. She must be fed separately because she absolutely scoffs her food down and then immediately looks around for more! ๐ณ I suspect she may have had to compete for food at some point in her past. She is only just learning to pause for a second and sit before diving into her dinner, so that is very much a work in progress.
Overall, Pepper is an absolute gorgeous little dog. โค๏ธ
She has so much love to give and, as she settles into a safe and loving home, I think we will see more and more of her beautiful personality emerge.
If you are looking for a gentle, affectionate little companion who will happily follow you around and quietly keep you company, Pepper could be your girl. ๐พ๐
She deserves to spend the rest of her life knowing what it feels like to be safe, loved and truly cherished.
