About Buddy
I’m a young Mini Poodle x Border Collie, under 10kg, and I’m boisterous, cheeky, quirky, loving and VERY clever.
I’m also a sensitive young boy who can find some situations challenging. It’s possible I spent a lot of time alone and didn’t get much socialisation when I was younger, so I have developed some big feelings that I’m still learning to manage. I’ve come a long way in foster care, but I need a patient and persistent person who understands my limits and is prepared to keep working with me. I am a poodle x, after all!
I’m incredibly clever and already know lots of cues and tricks. I love learning, and I’m very treat-motivated, so training is great fun for me. Who knows, maybe I could be the next flyball champion or even a skateboarder!
I absolutely love my humans and want to be part of everything they do. I’m an inside dog and don’t like being left outside. Being left home alone is no fun for me, so I need someone who is around most of the time and can help me gradually learn that you really will come back.
I’ve lived with other dogs and kids before and may enjoy having a calm, mature female dog of a similar size to keep me company and show me the ropes.
A secure backyard is important for my zoomies, games and wrestling matches with my toys. Once I’ve had my fun, I’m equally happy chilling on the couch or sitting in the sun as long as I can see you.
I’m still a young dog with a naughty streak and a bouncy, active personality. I need someone who enjoys training, wants their dog to be part of their world and is prepared to put in the time to help me become the best version of myself.
In return, I’ll follow you everywhere, sleep at the bottom of your bed and give you far too many kisses.
If you’re looking for a clever, affectionate and slightly chaotic little companion, maybe you’re my person.
Medical notes
Buddy is desexed, microchipped and up to date with vaccinations and parasite control.
I’m currently on long-term medication for anxiety. Hopefully, with time, training and the right environment, this may be reduced in the future, but any changes to my medication will need to be made under veterinary guidance.
