About Alby
Alby is a very cute, very cheeky 4-year-old Cavoodle weighing around 8kg. He’s also a little bit of a brat — but underneath all that attitude is a very loving little dog who really wants to find his person.
Alby needs a very specific home where he can feel safe and relaxed.
He is looking for a home with an older woman, or two women, where he can be their special little companion. No men, please. Because of his past, Alby sees men as a threat and, despite his best efforts, this is something he hasn’t been able to overcome. Even a lovely man who feeds him and plays with him is still someone he only tolerates.
No children is also non-negotiable. Alby may look like a cuddly little teddy bear, but he needs a quiet, predictable life without the noise and activity that comes with children. This includes visiting children too.
Alby also needs to be the only pet. He is very afraid of other dogs and can become overwhelmed by other animals. He also has a strong prey drive, so cats and small animals aren't suitable either. He’s quite happy being the centre of attention and would much rather have his person all to himself anyway!
Alby doesn't need to go for walks if they aren't practical. If his new person does want to take him out, walks need to be in very quiet areas where he is unlikely to encounter other dogs and won't be expected to interact with them. He is much happier having fun at home, and he absolutely loves playing fetch. Get that throwing arm ready — Alby could happily spend plenty of time chasing his ball with his favourite person.
At home, Alby is a very affectionate little guy. He loves a cuddle on the couch and being close to his person.
He's also quite happy to stay home while you go to work or head out for a while. The social scene isn't really his thing. He'd much rather stay home and wait for you to come back than tag along to cafes or busy outings.
Alby can be a bit of a chatterbox when he hears the neighbourhood dogs, but he isn't excessively barky. He's responsive to treats, knows how to sit and travels beautifully in the car.
He might not be the dog who can go everywhere and meet everyone, but for the right person, Alby has so much love to give. He wants a quiet home, a predictable routine and someone who understands that earning his trust is going to take time.
If you're looking for a little companion who will happily make himself the centre of your world, Alby might just be your guy.
Medical notes
Alby is desexed, microchipped and up to date with vaccinations and parasite control.
He is in good health.
