Meet big, chunky and incredibly lovable Staffy x the goofy loveable Bruce,
Not only is Big Bruce incredibly handsome, this chunky fella is going to be HUGE when fully grown as he is already 20 kilos of chonky muscle bound lovebug and we feel he will grow to 50 plus
Bruce is a gorgeous young boy with a big personality and an even bigger love for his people. He’s affectionate, cheeky, clever and, in true puppy fashion, has just the right amount of mischief thrown in.
One of Bruce’s greatest pleasures is being close to his humans. He absolutely loves a cuddle on the couch and, if he’s lucky, snuggling under a cosy blanket near you

Favourite Things
Bruce is happiest when he’s spending time with his people. He loves cuddles, attention and being involved in whatever is happening around him.
He enjoys chasing a ball, although bringing it back is still a work in progress! Tug-of-war is a firm favourite, and he loves getting outside to explore, especially running through long grass and investigating all the interesting sticks and smells along the way.
People
Bruce enjoys meeting people, although like many young dogs he can become excited and needs reminding to keep all four paws on the ground.
Bruce has been taught that when he is out and about, he doesn’t need to greet everyone he sees. Instead, he is learning to remain focused on his handler and only approach people when invited.
Training
Training is a very important part of Bruce’s life, and his new family will need to be committed to continuing the fantastic work already underway.
Bruce currently has several short training sessions each day and is proving himself to be a very quick learner — especially when high value treats are involved!
He is working on:
● Loose-lead walking
● Sitting and lying down
● Staying in place until released
● Recall
● Maintaining focus on his handler
● Remaining neutral around people and dogs
● Ignoring distractions while out walking
His recall is particularly impressive for his age, and he responds beautifully when training is clear, consistent and rewarding.
Bruce would benefit enormously from continuing structured training with an experienced trainer or suitable training classes.
Other Animals
Bruce needs thoughtful management around other animals.
He can become overwhelmed by boisterous dogs, particularly those running around or entering his space quickly. His current training focuses on teaching him that he doesn’t need to interact with other dogs and can simply remain calm and neutral around them.
Any necessary introductions should be slow, calm and carefully managed.
Bruce can be quite dominant at times especially dogs smaller than him so he’s definitely not suited to dog parks or places that will overstimulate his excitement
For these reasons, Bruce is looking for a home where he will be the only dog even though he currently loves his foster brother .
Independence
Bruce is very people-oriented and loves knowing where his humans are and what they’re doing.
Despite being a devoted little shadow, he is also capable of settling independently. He will happily relax outside on his favourite camp chair and is comfortable spending time in his crate.
Handling & Boundaries
Bruce has some clear boundaries that his new family will need to understand and respect.
He doesn’t appreciate being startled or touched while sleeping and prefers not to have his tail pulled or handled unnecessarily.
A home with people who understand canine body language and are comfortable advocating for him would suit Bruce beautifully.
Bruce currently receives two smaller meals each day or one larger evening meal, with his training treats taken into consideration when calculating his daily food intake.
Some of his meals are hand-fed and incorporated into training, helping strengthen his engagement with his handler while making mealtimes productive and rewarding.
Grooming
Bruce’s short coat is wonderfully low maintenance and requires very little upkeep. An occasional bath when needed is generally all it takes to keep this handsome boy looking his best.
Sleeping
Bruce is crate trained and currently sleeps happily in his crate overnight. He can comfortably sleep for up to 10 hours and waits to be let out in the morning.
During the day, he is equally happy snoozing in his crate or stretching out on his beloved camp chair outside.
Car Travel
Bruce travels beautifully in the car. He is happy to curl up on the seat and sleep or travel securely in a crate for the journey.
Exercise & Enrichment
As a young dog, Bruce doesn’t need huge amounts of physical exercise, but he absolutely benefits from mental stimulation and structured training.
He enjoys his walks but is usually ready for a rest after around 30 minutes. Training games, sniffing, exploring and other enrichment activities are great ways to exercise his clever puppy brain.
Inside the Home
Inside, Bruce is a lovely companion. He enjoys following his people around but is also learning to switch off and relax when everyone else does.
His toilet training is still a work in progress, but he continues to improve with consistency and routine.
Bruce’s Ideal Home
Bruce is looking for a special home that understands he is still a young dog with plenty to learn.
His ideal family will have experience with large, powerful breeds and be genuinely committed to continuing his training and providing clear, consistent boundaries.
We are seeking a home that will be committed to NOT take Bruce to places like dog parks or off leash dog areas
Bruce is best suited to being the only animal in the home.
A secure backyard with plenty of grass to explore would make him very happy, and a quieter home — particularly in a country or semi-rural setting with secure fencing — would be a wonderful match.
Most importantly, Bruce needs people who will appreciate his boundaries, continue building his confidence and give him the structure he needs to thrive.
In return, they’ll get a funny, affectionate, clever and incredibly cuddly young dog who will happily make himself part of the family — and possibly claim the best spot on the couch.
