Meet Jax, a handsome 8-year-old fluffy tabby with a soft, plush coat, gentle eyes, and a heart that has a whole lot of love to give, once he feels truly safe. This fluffy tabby gentleman is seeking a quiet kingdom of his own.

Jax came into care after his previous family made the difficult but kind decision to rehome him. He had never settled in a multi-pet household. Living with dogs and other cats left him anxious, grumpy, and constantly on edge. He spent years feeling the need to defend his space, and it simply wasn’t the life this sweet boy deserved.

Since arriving in our care and having a house all to himself, Jax has become a completely different cat. The tension has melted away. In its place is an incredibly smoochy, affectionate little gentleman who loves people and thrives on calm companionship. He is now relaxed, trusting, and ready to pour all that stored-up affection into the right person.

When Jax feels secure he is pure softness, purring, seeking laps, and happily falling asleep against you. He is a gentle soul who simply needs an environment where he doesn’t have to compete or stay on high alert. He is still a little sensitive to loud wind and thunderstorms (he’ll hide under the bed until the world feels calm again), but overall he is settled, content, and blossoming.

Jax would be best suited to a quiet, single-pet home with no other cats or dogs. He needs to be the one and only, with calm humans who can offer him the peaceful, predictable life he has been waiting for. In the right home he will repay that security with deep affection and quiet devotion.

He is healthy, desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and ready to meet the person who can give him the calm, loving kingdom he deserves.

About Us

Urban Feline Australia is a small, independent cat rescue dedicated to saving surrendered cats from kill shelters and finding them loving, permanent homes.

Founded and run by a passionate animal lover with the support of dedicated friends and volunteers, we specialise in caring for cats that have previously lived in family homes but, for various reasons, can no longer stay with their owners.

Since our inception, we have been fortunate to build a small but dedicated network of volunteer foster carers. These compassionate individuals welcome the surrendered cats into their homes, providing them with love, care, and a safe environment while we search for their perfect forever families.

As a tiny, grassroots rescue with no government funding or large facilities, every rescue is powered by compassion, community support, and a genuine commitment to animal welfare.

All adoption fees and donations go directly toward the essential needs of the cats in our care — including premium food, veterinary treatment, litter, equipment, and ongoing medical support. We rely heavily on the generosity of our foster carers, volunteers, and supporters to continue our work.

Our long-term vision is to expand so we can help even more cats in need. This includes securing a larger dedicated property and, one day, possibly opening a cat café to raise awareness and funds while creating a welcoming space for cat lovers.
