About Kit
š¾ Meet Kit ā A Gentle Little Soul Looking for His Safe Place
Kit is a sweet, gentle kitten who just needs a little time to feel safe and find his confidence.
He can be shy when meeting new people and isnāt the kind of kitten who will immediately throw himself into your arms. But give him patience, kindness and time to get to know you, and youāll discover a beautiful little boy with a very sweet and affectionate nature. ā¤ļø
Kit has some lasting changes to his eye from an earlier eye condition, described by his vet as corneal scarring and anterior synechiae. The good news is that Kit is otherwise happy and healthy, and his eye doesnāt stop him from enjoying life nor will it impact him in the long term.
His vet has advised that Kit should be kept out of direct sunlight and live as an indoor-only cat, which aligns perfectly with ARKās policy that all adopted cats are to be kept indoors.
One thing we have discovered while Kit has been in care is just how much confidence he gains from the company of an older female cat. He has formed a beautiful, deep bond with an older girl in his foster home and seems to look to her for reassurance and security.
Because of this, we feel Kitās ideal home will include a confident, gentle older female cat who would be happy to have a little shadow and help show him that the world is a safe place.
Kit may need a little more time than some kittens to settle in, but for the person willing to give him that time, we think heāll be an incredibly special little companion. š¾š
Medical notes
Kit has corneal scarring and anterior synechiae. This is where the iris, due to chronic ulceration is present, and Kit exhibits no signs of pain such as squinting or extra tear production, no management is required and it is only cosmetic. The only ongoing consideration is due to the location of the adhesions; Kit has reduced control of his pupils. As a result, he cannot constrict in bright light and as per our policy must remain as an indoor cat protected from bright sunlight.

Dogs:
(1) The first step is to complete the online adoption application form at https://southerndownsark.com.au/apply-to-adopt/ Please answer all questions and include photos of your yard and fencing.
(2) All applications will be considered by our Adoption Team, following which a "meet and greet" will be offered to the top-ranking applicant.
(3) If the āmeet and greet" is successful, the applicant may adopt the dog and take him or her home the same day.
(4) For successful interstate applicants, different arrangements may apply and will be negotiated on a case-by-case basis.
