Meet Cambria 🐾

Cambria is a Staffy X with a big personality, an even bigger heart, and a serious appreciation for snacks. She is a very friendly girl who loves meeting other dogs and gets particularly excited whenever she spots a potential new best friend on a walk.

Her behaviour around cats and other animals hasn’t been tested, and her experience with babies and young children is currently unknown.

Despite being an energetic and playful dog, Cambria is surprisingly independent and is very comfortable being left home alone. She initially had some separation anxiety when settling into a new environment, but she adapted incredibly quickly, within just two days.

She has lived in an apartment and was excellent with toileting after that initial adjustment period, holding her bladder until she was taken out for a walk with no ongoing accidents.

Cambria is taken for walks at least three times a day and absolutely loves getting out and about. She can get a little over excited on walks, particularly when another dog appears, and will pull on the lead because she simply must go and say hello.

She is gentle and curious, and we’re confident that with continued training and consistency that her walking manners will keep improving.

She's also a very clever girl who picks up new skills quickly. She is currently learning commands such as sit, down and stay, and responds exceptionally well to positive reinforcement, especially when that reinforcement happens to be edible.

Food is definitely one of Cambria’s love languages. If you have a treat in your hand, congratulations: you now have a very loyal shadow.

At home, Cambria is affectionate and loves nothing more than greeting her humans with
plenty of enthusiasm. Expect jumping, lots of kisses, and a strong request for butt scratches and belly rubs. She can get very excited when new people arrive, but this usually settles within about five minutes. Once the excitement is over, she is more than happy to curl up on the couch or her dog bed for a nap.

Although she is playful and energetic, Cambria is not destructive and happily entertains herself with her toys.

She generally listens well to commands indoors, although excitement can occasionally make selective hearing kick in, particularly when another dog is involved!

Cambria does have a chronic UTI which has caused some thickening of her bladder wall.
There was one occasion where this resulted in her having an accident inside, but since
starting medication she has been doing very well and the UTI is on track to resolving. Her toileting has otherwise been excellent.

Overall, Cambria is a loving, intelligent and adaptable girl who is still learning her manners.

She has settled into new environments remarkably quickly and is improving every day. She may be a little enthusiastic when she sees another dog, but underneath all that excitement is a gentle, affectionate pup who is very eager to make friends, especially if there are treats involved.
