Gentle boy seeks caring home
Titus is as sweet as the honey colour of his coat. This gentle boy had a limited early life and is looking for a home with people who will give him the time and guidance he needs to feel safe and come into his own. Titus and his sister Waffles were surrendered from a busy multi-pet home and found the pound environment very stressful, so the Vic Dog Rescue team stepped in.
In his foster home, Titus has attached quickly to his carer and enjoys sticking near them while he quietly checks out the world of his local 'hood. He is fully house trained and happy using a doggy door, and sleeps well through the night in his carer's room. Titus is pretty shy with new people at this stage, but once he warms up, his friendly personality shines through, and there is even the odd hint of a cheeky soul beneath his quiet demeanour. Although he grew up with other dogs and is currently cohabiting, Titus is cautious when meeting new dogs, so slow introductions help him feel safe. He has no basic training but is polite, smart and food-motivated, so has all the foundations to learn quickly with consistent rewards-based training once he settles into his new digs.
Titus is looking for a calm home with dog-experienced people willing to give him the time and guidance he needs to come out of his shell. He would be happy living as a solo dog or with another calm adult dog after appropriate introductions. Titus can be left for short periods provided he receives regular physical and mental exercise and quality time with his people when they are home. He will benefit from training to build his skills and confidence and his bond with his new people. He will return this support with love, loyalty and the pleasure of helping a sweet young boy discover all the joys that life has to offer. If you are ready to join Team Titus, he would love to hear from you.
Okay with dogs and chickens, untested with kids and cats.

Adoption details
We are a community fostercare network, not a shelter, and our dogs and cats are cared for in private homes. Note that we are very careful where we rehome our dogs and cats and we have an intensive process. If you want a quick turnaround we are not the group for you. If you seem like a good match for the dog of your choice we will organise a telephone chat, a meet and greet and a property check. We offer free assistance for six weeks for any issues, a lifetime takeback policy with full refund of the adoption fee, and will always be available to offer advice.
We care for our dogs and cats and we want you to as well. We know that genuine applicants have no trouble with this process and understand that if we refuse you a dog or cat, it is because you are not the best match for that pet.
Our commitment to the dogs and cats in our care is total and we treat each one as if we are passing on a family pet. This may not suit you so we point out that there are equally great dogs and cats available in pounds, shelters and with other rescue groups.
