About Biscotti
Hi, I’m Biscotti.
I’m a gentle, playful boy who is still learning to trust people. I came from a street life, so I am not the sort of cat who will immediately curl up on your lap and demand cuddles. I need time, patience and someone who understands that trust is something we build together.
When I first arrived at my foster home, I was unsure of people. I still get anxious when hands or fingers come close to my face, and I may give you a little warning paw if I feel uncomfortable. I am much happier when people let me come to them at my own pace. I will happily sit nearby and keep you company, and I have even discovered that I quite like a gentle nose boop with a closed fist.
I really enjoy having company. I love being around my foster family and the dogs, and I often sit at the other end of the lounge to be near them. I even greet everyone at the door when they come back inside. After a couple of weeks, I found my voice too. Now, when breakfast or dinner is announced, I join the dogs to make sure my foster family knows it is definitely time to eat. I have a very sweet meow, especially when I think I am starving.
I am also a playful boy. Chasing and batting tinkling balls around is great fun, and I enjoy pouncing on cat wands and playing with my ball pat toy. Cat tube treats are another favourite, although I am still not brave enough to take treats directly from your hand. If you drop them on the floor for me, I am very happy to help myself.
I have perfect litter-tray manners and am comfortable around respectful dogs. I do not mind having a dog nearby as long as they give me space and do not get right in my face.
Because I am FIV positive, I need to be the only cat in my home unless I am living with another FIV positive cat. I have not been tested with other cats. I would not be suited to a home with young children. Older children who are calm and gentle may be considered, as I may enjoy a quiet game with them once I feel comfortable, but that would take time.
My new family will need to understand that I may hide when I first arrive and that becoming confident will take time. I am not looking for a home where someone expects an instant cuddly cat. I am looking for someone who will give me the space and patience I need to show them who I really am.
If you are happy to let me take things slowly, I might surprise you with how much I have to give.
Medical notes
Biscotti has tested positive for FIV. As a result, he is not suitable to be rehomed with cats who are negative for this virus. He can live with another cat who is also appropriately positive, provided they are compatible.
Being FIV positive does not mean Biscotti cannot enjoy a happy and fulfilling life. With appropriate veterinary care, regular monitoring and treatment when needed, cats living with these viruses can have a good quality of life and, in some cases, live for many years.

Adoption details
Adoption Process
Please complete your adoption application in full and provide all required supporting documentation, including veterinary records for any existing pets and, where applicable, a copy of your current lease agreement with written permission to keep pets. Applications will not be assessed until all requested information has been received.
Applications are not approved on a first come, first served basis. Every application is carefully assessed to ensure the best possible match between the animal and their new home. We consider the individual needs of each animal, your lifestyle, experience, home environment, and ability to provide lifelong care. If we believe the animal you have applied for is not the right fit, we will happily work with you to find a more suitable match.
Cats are adopted as strictly indoor-only pets. They must not be allowed to roam outdoors under any circumstances. Secure outdoor cat enclosures or supervised harness walks are acceptable where appropriate.
Dogs will only be adopted into homes with secure, escape-proof fencing suitable for the size, breed, and needs of the individual dog. Applicants may be asked to provide photos or videos of their fencing and yard as part of the assessment process.
If your application is approved, your contact details will be provided to the animal's foster carer, who will contact you to arrange a meet-and-greet and, if suitable, a handover.
Prior to collection, you will receive an adoption agreement, copies of the animal's veterinary records, and payment details. The signed adoption agreement and full payment of the adoption fee must be received before the animal can leave our care.
We offer a two-week trial period to help ensure the adoption is the right fit for both you and the animal. If the adoption does not proceed during this period, the animal must be returned to our care. The adoption fee will be refunded less an administration fee, provided the animal is returned in the same condition in which it was adopted.
Our priority is placing every animal into a safe, loving, and permanent home. We reserve the right to decline any application if we believe it is not in the animal's best interests.
