Meet Gemma
Gemma is a young mixed breed girl with a heart full of love and a bright future ahead of her. Sweet, affectionate, and wonderfully people-focused, this lovely lady is happiest when she's by your side, soaking up quality time with her favourite humans.
One of Gemma's standout qualities is just how beautifully she walks on lead. She's already mastered strolling happily alongside her person, making walks together an enjoyable experience for everyone involved. Whether it's a leisurely wander through the neighbourhood or heading out on a new adventure, Gemma is ready to be your faithful companion.
While she's still figuring out the whole dog friendship thing, Gemma has been making great progress. She's learning that having canine friends can actually be a lot of fun, especially when she finds a playmate who can match her enthusiasm and energy. With continued positive experiences and guidance, she's sure to keep building her confidence and social skills.

Adoption details
BARC adoption officers will work with you to help you find a dog or cat that matches your needs, they will discuss things like yard fencing, exercise requirements, other pets and family members, lifestyle factors, and breed experience. To help make this as quick and easy as possible, we ask you complete and adoption questionnaire (located on our website, or you can complete on when you visit). This helps ensure that we are introducing you to the most suitable animals we have available.
We encourage all members of the household to attend a meet and greet with a pet prior to adopting an animal. If the animal being adopted is a dog, we will also require existing dogs in the household to attend the shelter as part of the meet and greet.
Holds can not be placed on animals over the phone, and can only be applied at the discretion of management.
