About Koda
🐾💕 Meet Koda – A Sweet Frenchie x Staffy Looking for Her Person! 💕🐾
Koda is an 1 year and 8 month old French Bulldog x Staffy, weighing 18kgs and standing around 50cm tall, and she is one of those dogs who makes you smile simply by being around. She is affectionate, funny, cuddly and completely devoted to her people. Koda has a beautiful soft side and once she knows you, she really wants to be your girl. ❤️
Koda came into care after living with another dog where the relationship between the two dogs became increasingly reactive and unfortunately continued to get worse rather than better. For the safety and wellbeing of both dogs, the decision was made that they needed separate homes. Because of this, Koda must be an only dog in her forever home.
💕 Koda is a total people girl
If you want a dog who wants to be your shadow, Koda could be the girl for you. She loves following her person around the house, keeping an eye on what you're doing and making sure she is never too far away.
She will happily rest her head on whatever part of you she can reach, give you a little paw when she wants attention and generally make it very clear that she would like to be involved in whatever you're doing. 😂
Her favourite thing is cuddling, but she also has a playful side and enjoys chasing a ball around the room. She hasn't quite worked out that the ball is supposed to come back yet, but we're sure she'll get there! 😂
🏡 Life with Koda
Koda is surprisingly easy-going around the home. Most of the time she is a complete couch potato and is very happy relaxing while her people go about their day.
She is toilet trained, knows sit, wait and stay, and is learning that jumping up when greeting people isn't quite the polite way to say hello.
She can comfortably spend a normal eight-hour workday inside and is happy relaxing while her humans are out.
And despite having her own lovely dog bed, Koda has decided the couch is obviously where she belongs. 😂
👧 Koda & kids
Koda has been fantastic with tween-aged children and is wonderfully tolerant of cuddles, affection and attention.
We feel she would be best suited to a family with upper-primary-aged children or older, where everyone understands how to interact respectfully with a dog.
🐶🐱 Koda needs to be your one and only
This is an important part of finding the right home for Koda.
Koda needs to be the only dog in the household. She has previously lived with another dog, but their relationship deteriorated over time and both dogs became reactive towards each other.
When Koda sees other dogs while out walking, she can become quite vocal and may pull and lunge towards them. She is therefore not looking for a canine sibling — she is looking for her people, all to herself! ❤️
Koda has not been tested with cats, so we are unable to say how she would respond to living with a cat. Because of her history with other animals, we would also not recommend a home with other pocket pets.
What we can say is that Koda would be a fantastic opportunity for a family who only wants one dog and is looking for a devoted companion who can have all the attention, cuddles and love to herself. 🥰
Her new family will need to understand her history and be happy to continue working with her on her lead manners and reactions to other dogs.
🌿 Koda loves her walkies
Koda has plenty of energy when she wants it and can happily manage around an hour's walk. Her stamina certainly isn't the issue!
What she needs help with is learning to walk more calmly on the lead. She can pull strongly and may lunge when she sees another dog, so her new owner needs to be willing to continue her training.
Her foster family has been taking her out at quieter times and avoiding busy periods, which helps make walks more enjoyable for everyone.
This is something we want to be upfront about — Koda isn't a perfect lead walker yet, but she is a very loving girl who is capable of learning with the right person, patience and consistency.
🚨 A little home security included!
Koda is generally a fairly quiet girl, but if she hears something she thinks you need to know about, she'll happily let you know.
She's not an excessive barker, but she will make sure her people are aware when something suspicious is happening outside. 😂
❤️ Koda's softer side
Koda can be unsure when she first enters a new environment and will need a few days to settle and gain confidence. Once she understands her surroundings and routine, she becomes much more secure and relaxed.
She really thrives when she knows where she is, what is happening and who her person is.
She is also fantastic in the car and happily settles in the back seat for the journey.
🌟 A few things that make Koda, Koda
Koda can jump surprisingly high, although she has shown no interest in jumping fences.
She once decided a shoe looked like an interesting chew toy, but thankfully didn't damage it and hasn't repeated her experiment!
She is also wonderfully low-maintenance when it comes to grooming.
💕 Koda's forever home
Koda is looking for someone who wants an affectionate, loving indoor companion and who will enjoy having a dog who genuinely wants to be part of their everyday life.
She needs to be an only dog, has not been cat tested, and we would not recommend a home with pocket pets. Her new family also needs to be willing to continue helping her become more confident and polite on lead.
But what you get in return is pretty special.
You get a girl who follows you around the house, rests her head on you, paws you for attention, loves cuddles, enjoys a good walk, has silly playful moments and then happily collapses onto the couch beside you.
Koda doesn't need someone looking for a perfect dog. She needs someone looking for her. Someone who understands that she has a couple of things to work on, but can see the beautiful, affectionate and incredibly loving girl underneath.

Adoption details
Paw Prints Canine Rescue is a non for profit dog rescue located in Southeast Queensland.
All our dogs leave our care with full vet work (up-to-date vaccinated, microchipped, desexed, heart worm and intestinal wormed and flea treated).
Please note - They will not leave for their new homes until they are 12 weeks of age and have been desexed, micro-chipped and vaccinated up to date.
Please note - we are not a pound or have kennels - all our dogs stay in foster carers homes and therefore dogs are not able to be simply viewed - only approved applicants will meet the dogs.

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
Approved applicants will be contacted to arrange a time for a meet & greet via email. You must bring your current dog along to the meeting if you are meeting another dog/puppy, this is to ensure they get along before commencing adoption - proof of your dogs up-to-date vaccination is required before any meet and greet is arranged.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 10 day trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $250) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption - each bio will state if available for adoption - please check before applying.
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
After the 10 day trial period is completed Paw Prints Canine will send out all relevant paperwork for your new furbaby via email including the transfer of microchip form.
