About Hattie
Hello there! I’m Hattie, and I’m officially accepting applications for my forever family.
APPLICATION PROCESS APPLIES FOR HATTIE
PLEASE COMPLETE THE BELOW APPLICATION FORM

My Ideal Home:
• Familiarity and understanding of my breed traits would be highly valued.
• I’ll need daily exercise — walks, park or beach trips, and playtime in the backyard will keep me happy and healthy.
• Ongoing training and guidance with basic manners will help me grow into a well-behaved companion.
• I want to be part of the family indoors — not left outside without interaction.
• Secure fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent) is essential to keep me safe.
• I’d love plenty of toys and mental enrichment to keep my busy mind occupied.
• A good-quality dry food diet will help support my dental health.
• Regular grooming and brushing will keep me looking and feeling my best.
• Most importantly, I’m looking for lots of love and attention from my family.
• Socialisation is just as important as training. Taking me to new places, introducing me to all sorts of people, dogs, and other animals will help me grow into a confident, well-adjusted dog.
• Training, training, training — it’s essential that I receive consistent guidance in every aspect of my life so I can become the very best companion as I mature.
Dog Compatibility:
• I’d love a friendly dog playmate — or, if I’m your only dog, regular opportunities to socialise with other dogs.
Cat / small animal:
• I was unsure around cats at the shelter and may become more inquisitive as my confidence grows. If I join a home with a cat, they’ll need to be dog-savvy and introductions must be gradual and well managed.
My Paw-some Perks:
• I’m highly food motivated, which makes training lots of fun and helps me learn quickly.
• I’m gentle and placid in nature, and I’ve had some basic obedience training — I’m generally a well-mannered dog. I know my basic commands like sit I’m always eager to learn more.
• I absolutely love attention, cuddles, hugs, kisses and head scratches, and I’m quite partial to snoozing on the couch with my humans.
• I’m clever, enthusiastic, and would thrive with a family who’ll continue my training and maybe even teach me some cool new tricks.
Training:
• I haven’t had any formal training yet, so I’ll need help with all my basic manners and life skills. The good news is I love food, which will make positive training lots of fun and rewarding for me.
• Once I’m settled, I can walk nicely, but I may pull if something grabs my attention or if I decide I’d like to head in a different direction. A harness or head halter would really help while I continue my training.
• My recall needs work, as I can sometimes ignore you if I’m distracted — this is something we’ll need to practice together.
• I can feel anxious when left alone in the backyard and may whine. A home where I can spend plenty of time indoors, have lots of company, and be provided with enrichment toys or treats when alone would suit me best.
• I’m not housetrained yet, as I haven’t previously been allowed inside, so I’ll need guidance and consistency to learn.
Please Note: You’ll only be able to meet Hattie if your application is approved. Successful applicants will be invited to the shelter for a meet-and-greet, and any dogs currently in the home must attend as well
