About Tubs
Meet Tubs, an endlessly lovable canine companion who is sure to win hearts with his goofy zest for life. With a playful and cuddly personality, Tubs is full of energy, always ready for moments of joy and adventure. His unconditional love and cheerful spirit will make every day with him a delight.
Tubs is particularly attached to his toys, especially plush stuffed animals that he loves to throw around, making playtime a highly entertaining and interactive experience. With his boundless energy, he thrives in a home where he has room to romp and a family who enjoys lots of activity. He would love someone to have playful romps in a backyard (either human or dog), whether it's a game of tug-of-war or a friendly chase.
He's great with other dog breeds and little dogs on a lead, but Tubs occasionally struggles with excitement, not realizing when it is time to bring things down a notch. This can scare or put off other dogs. Big love equals big enthusiasm for Tubs, but he might get in the way sometimes, so a household with children over the age of eight is best to ensure every interaction is comfortable and safe.
Tubs' true love is the humans around him. He cherishes people's company, basking in the pats and admiration he receives. Typically, a loose lead walker, he can sometimes get overly excited and pull if he sees another dog or wants to say hi to a stranger.
This fetching boy's love for food adds to his character, though he can be a bit snappy when treats are on the menu, so a little guidance and patience in these moments will help him learn. Tubs suits a household with previous dog experience with his love for a fun, interactive, and lively atmosphere at the heart of his charm. No pocket pets or cats as they will get squished in his excitement.
If you want a hilariously endearing, energetic companion and have the space and patience for a lovable clown, Tubs would be a delightful furever pet!

Adoption details
Step 1: Please contact Anna Rogers, Dog colony supervisor (anna.rogers@tafesa.edu.au) for an application form.
Step 2: Return the completed application form to Anna Rogers. Once we receive your completed application form along with a minimum of 5 photos of your property showing various views of your backyard covering gates, fences, shelter areas for the greyhound and any other area (i.e. inside the house) the greyhound will be residing in. This is so we can assess your property as safe and suitable for a greyhound and match you to the dog that best suits your environment/lifestyle.
Step 3: We will match you with the dog best suited to your situation and lifestyle.
Step 4: A meet in greet will occur with all family members including any existing pet dogs. If everyone gets along and the application is successful, the dog will then be collected at an agreed later date.
Step 5: Collect the dog and shower them with love!
All the greyhounds up for adoption are desexed, microchipped, wormed and vaccinated. The dogs also have had regular dental checks and cleans.
All the dogs come with:
- their lead & collar,
- muzzle (if they require one),
- full medical history since they arrived at Tafe,
- desexing and vaccination certificates,
- a winter jacket,
- a blanket that smells of them and,
- a week's supply of dry dog food for you to transition the dog to the food of your choice.
