Dot

Baby Dot is ready for adoption, much to the dismay of her tiny foster carers who have loved her with all their hearts.

She was born to a stray Mum who gave birth to her first puppy at a construction site before grabbing him and running for the bushes where she gave birth to another 6 puppies and hid them for 3.5 weeks! Everything was stacked against Dot and when she came into our care with her family we weren't sure exactly how this tiny puppy who resembled a guinea pig had survived in the bush.Then we watched her Mum, Disney, taking care of her and we knew how hard she had fought to keep her little runt going. Disney would pick Dot up and carry her away from the other babies so she could feed her alone without having to fight her siblings for the milk.

Dot has thankfully had a growth spurt and now actually looks like a puppy, but she is still considerably smaller than her siblings and everyone is shocked when they find out they are from the same litter. With her bigger size came a bigger personality! Dot might be tiny, but she's making sure everyone knows she's around and will no longer be overlooked.

We always get asked what breed she is and we can confidently say she is 100% Pilbara Special! Her Mum is a medium sized lady with lots of wonderful breeds mixed in throughout the generations and Dad was probably a street dog too who is also made up of about 30 different breeds. Over the generations the breeds have been diluted so we can't pinpoint any breeds that have a significant DNA imprint. Her size really will be a mystery. She is teeny tiny at 12 weeks but it's always possible she'll have a huge growth spurt and fit into those feet one day, but she might also just not grow as big as the rest of the gang. We think she'd be happy to stay small so she can live a life of someone carrying her around though 😂

Due to her size and initially her lack of personality, she has always been a favourite with her little foster carers who have constantly showered her with love and affection and dragged her around everywhere with them. She's ridden in the back of ride on toys, scooted around on scooters, been pushed around in dolls prams, carried in bags.... And she's never complained. She's lapped up all the attention that's been given to her, but she's not demanding of constant attention, she's happy to spend some down time on her own. If she's tired she'll take herself off to bed while everyone else continues to party.

Dot has a few acres ro play on but she's not super adventurous, she prefers to stick close by the house unless someone is willing to carry her. 😂 But she does love a car ride! She's a regular attendee on the school run and as soon as she gets in the car she falls asleep, usually in the funniest positions. She'd love a home where she's included in your everyday errands but she is a little bit of a princess. 😉

Baby Dot loves other dogs and would really like to join a home where she has a calm male dog who can keep her company or a home that can socialise her often with friends and family dogs. She's also used to cats and is very respectful of them, probably because they're so big compared to her! 😂

After fighting so hard to be here we think she deserves the very best home, one where her family are committed to her now and in the future. She's a puppy with very puppy like behaviour, those baby shark teeth are sharp and she'll try and steal your thongs off your feet, but she'll steal your heart even quicker. 🩷 Puppies are a lot of work, so please think about it you can provide her with the time and effort she needs for training to set her up for a life of success. She's a family member who wants to spend time with her family doing the everyday things and needs to be allowed inside the home (prepare for plenty of puppy accidents!) with people home often.

Dot is living in a foster home within the Port Hedland area and is available for a meet and greet after an application has been submitted if we feel like it would be a good fit. If you're not local we can arrange a phone call with her foster carer who will be happy to chat about all things Dot.

Flying for a few hours is very important for animals in remote locations because it gives us the opportunity to be adopted. Talk to SAFE about flying me to Perth.
