Meet Carol — a beautiful grey & white domestic shorthair, approximately 1 years old.

But Carol isn’t your typical house cat.

Carol was born on the streets as part of a colony. About a year and a half ago, she was rescued through another rescue organisation. Sadly, her life since then has been anything but stable.

She was moved through three different foster homes, adopted, returned, adopted again, then given away to a cat hoarder instead of being returned to rescue. She was eventually dumped, ended up at the RSPCA, and when the original rescue didn’t collect her, Carol was facing euthanasia.

That’s when we stepped in. ❤️

We took Carol in, and since November last year she has remained in the same foster home.

No more being passed around.
No more constantly having to start again.
No more being let down.

And slowly, Carol has started to learn what it means to feel safe.

When Carol first arrived, she wouldn’t allow a human anywhere near her without attacking.

Today, she is still a timid, unsocialised cat, but she has come such a long way. She hides, she keeps her distance and she doesn’t enjoy being touched — but she has learned that humans can exist around her without being a threat.

And then there is her favourite thing… ☀️

SUN BAKING IN THE CATIO.

You’ll often find Carol stretched right out, soaking up the sunshine and simply enjoying life. 🥹

Because of this, an outdoor secure cat run is an absolute requirement for Carol’s new home.

We will not expect Carol to live indoors without access to a secure catio/cat run. She must have a properly enclosed outdoor space with cat netting.

⚠️ Carol must NOT be free-roaming.

Carol also absolutely loves other cats. In fact, she is much more of a cat’s cat than a people’s cat.

She loves being around other cats, playing with them and cuddling up with them. ❤️

She has only allowed her foster carer to give her a little cuddle once.

Yes… just once.

But that one moment showed us something incredibly important:

Maybe, one day, Carol will choose to trust.

We don’t know whether she will ever become a lap cat. We don’t know whether she will ever want to be picked up or cuddled.

And we aren’t asking her to.

We just want someone who will love her for exactly who she is.

🏡 Carol’s ideal home:

• 1–2 adults only
• No children
• Ideally 1–2 friendly resident cats
• A secure outdoor cat run/catio with cat netting
• No free-roaming
• Someone patient and understanding
• Someone who will never force interaction
• Someone prepared for trust to take months, or even years
• A home committed to Carol for life — regardless of whether she ever becomes affectionate

Carol has already had far too many people make decisions about her life.

Her next home needs to be her final one.

She needs someone who understands that sometimes love isn’t about being able to cuddle an animal.

Sometimes love is simply sitting beside them, giving them space, and saying:

“You don’t have to be afraid anymore. I’m not going anywhere.” ❤️

Carol is desexed, microchipped and vaccinated.

Because we desperately want to find the right person for her, her adoption fee has been heavily reduced to just $50.

Please don’t apply because you feel sorry for Carol.

Please apply because you truly understand her and are prepared to give her the time, patience and stability she has been denied for so much of her life.

Carol doesn’t need to be fixed.

She needs to finally be home. 🏡❤️
