About Jersey
Introducing Jersey!
Jersey is a Staffy x born approx 15th March 2024.
Jersey was brought into us as a microchipped stray, however her microchip hadn't been loaded on any database Australia wide. Unfortunately no one came looking for her.
We noticed almost immediately that Jersey has what looks to be a cleft palate but it doesn't seem to cause her any issues, however this will be looked at when she goes in for her desexing appointment.
Since being at the facility Jersey has been absolutely beautiful to care for. She's incredibly friendly with every human she meets and she's very food motivated. We've noticed she'll have a quick burst of energy, then turn into a couch potato. We believe she would love to be an actual couch potato/lap dog and have the opportunity to be inside with her humans. While it doesn't appear that she's had any training, she's already mostly learnt how to "sit" and she takes her treats gently. Being so food motivated definitely helps with training, but sometimes she can get overly excited and lose focus on what we're trying to teach her and try to cuddle the whole time.
Jersey tested well with other dogs at the facility. She met both large & small dogs and was great with both. We believe Jersey could be suitable to live with another dog or be the spoilt only "child" at home. If you have a friendly dog at home, we will need to do a meet & greet with them to ensure they get along before going home.
Unfortunately Jersey has shown signs of prey drive, so she will need a home with no small animals like cats, chickens & rabbits.
Jersey has shown no signs of food aggression or separation anxiety since being at the facility.
She still has so much to learn about the world and life and would love to be in a home where she is included as a member of the family. Jersey will thrive in an environment that guides her with positive direction and lots of love and attention.
If you think you could be that furever family for Jersey, please contact our friendly staff via email at ccacfpetadoptions@gmail.com or 0499 900 272 to organise a meet and greet.
Her adoption fee is $500 & includes her desexing, vaccination and lifetime registration. She is also regularly treated for fleas and worms.
Jersey is currently located in East Maitland.
Medical notes
No known pre-existing conditions.
Adoption details
If you are interested in adopting one of our animals, please contact us on 0499 900 272.
Staff will ask more about your lifestyle and the information you provide will helps us to achieve the best match between the dog or cat and their new home. We will also have certain adoption requirements that have to be approved prior to meeting the animal (eg fencing requirements, no young kids, etc)
Once all of your questions have been answered and adoption requirements met and approved, its time to meet your potential new furbaby. This meet will be conducted at the shelter in the Hunter Valley.
Should you have an existing dog in your life, we will require a meet and greet to ensure that they get along.
The final step (pending agreement by both parties) is the payment of the adoption fee and filling in of associated paperwork for your new furbaby.
Congratulations, you have now saved a life!
