About Charlie - 9 Year Old Silky Terrier X
Charlie is a sweet senior gentleman looking for a quiet, peaceful home where he can enjoy his twilight years. After living in a busy environment with six other dogs, he is now hoping for calm, predictability, and a human he can truly bond with.
Because of his past, Charlie is wary of men, so a female led home would be ideal. He can accept gentle, patient males who move slowly, speak softly, and allow him to build trust at his own pace.
Charlie may start off shy, but once he feels safe, he blossoms into a happy, affectionate little companion. He loves having his own space, a calm routine, and someone who understands that senior dogs thrive on kindness and reassurance.
He absolutely loves lying on the veranda in the sunshine, finding his own peaceful little spot to just relax and take in the breeze. It’s one of his favourite ways to unwind.
He absolutely loves the car and makes a wonderful little road trip buddy, always happy to hop in and enjoy the ride.
When it comes to exercise, he’s best suited to short, gentle walks — anything longer than about 40 minutes becomes too much for him, and he will need to be carried. A home that’s happy to keep his outings brief and comfortable will suit him perfectly.
His beautiful Silky coat requires regular brushing and professional grooming, so please consider this in your time and budget.
Charlie is toilet trained (mostly) and can use the doggy door (with the flap taped up) to take himself outside and sleeps peacefully through the night.

He is in foster care in Cameron Park, NSW. He is not available for adoption interstate. His adoption fee is $400 and he is desexed, vaccinated, treated for fleas and worms, and microchipped.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to fill in our online Adoption Questionnaire:

(2) If the questionnaire is approved, we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've applied for.
(3) Next, we will arrange for you to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or at a nearby park.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay the adoption fee*, sign the NSW change of ownership form and our DRN Adoption Agreement and take your new family member home! The two week trial period begins on the day of adoption.
*We prefer payment by funds transfer and don't accept cash or personal cheques.
