Spectacular boy Max our Springer Spaniel is back looking for his forever home.

Max is 3 years old (DOB 8/7/2023) and full of life. He is a fun and a gentle boy with a good established recall. Max is strong on lead so some further work is required in that element.

Max loves water and requires daily exercise to expel energy but also mental stimulation. Springer Spaniels are a working breed - bred for flushing and retrieving birds, so it is essential Max is engaged in meaningful activities.

Max still gets excited meeting new people and jumps up. He soon settles down after that initial excitement. In his foster placement Max is able to alert when he needs to go outside to the toilet and is house trained. A doggy door with access to outside would be ideal for this boy in his next home. Max is crate trained and is sleeping all night in the crate without any accidents.

Max is not suitable for a home with young children, upper primary school aged and above that are dog savvy.

Max needs to be an only pet within the home as he does not like sharing attention and space. He will tend to resource guard if in a home with other animals. Max also loves people around a fair bit. He would not cope being at home alone for long periods everyday.

Out and about in the community Max is ok with female dogs. With other male dogs he can be dominant.

Max has been flea and worm treated, desexed, vaccinated and microchipped. Max's adoption fee is $900.

We are looking for an active home for Max with people that are familiar with the breed. He would love to be a devoted companion and much loved family member.
