About Sapphire
Meet Sapphire! A 7 month old black and tan female kelpie who has really learned to shine like the gem she is in foster care.
A total cuddle bug that just wants to be close to her people all the time. She has never met a stranger, to her every person is a friend. When she first arrived in foster care the world was a little bit scary, but she took everything in stride and quickly overcame any fears she had. She loves to have a good run in the paddock, a game of fetch or a game of chasey with some dog pals. She has met babies and toddlers and been respectful to both. At first cats, chickens and goats were just a bit too much to handle but within a few days she realised they’re all friends and now has the best manners around them all.
Sapphire has quickly learned the sit command, and she’s nearly got down and wait for meals mastered as well. She has a natural desire to always be in eyesight of her people and is pretty reliably coming back on command now. She sleeps through the night in her crate and took to toilet training almost immediately. She’s still learning that the best way to meet people is all four feet on the ground, but that has improved immensely. Now that she knows how fun the house can be we are actively working on threshold manners but she will surely master that soon.
The ideal home for Sapphire would be with people who want to make her a part of the family and spend lots of time with her. She will need people dedicated to continuing her training and introducing her to new things. A family in a rural area would be best suited as very busy urban areas are still a bit overwhelming for her. She will need an active family as she does have all that fantastic kelpie energy. She would be fine being a solo dog and soaking up all the love or could also go to a home with another dog.

To apply to adopt a dog from Dogs4Jobs, you must firstly complete our adoptions application form in full at https://dogs4jobs.com.au/adoption-process-forms/.
You can also write out your answers and email them to dogs@dogs4jobs.com.au
*Please note, due to the high volume of applications received, we will not respond to Petrescue chat messages, or enquiries to adopt a dog. You must complete our adoptions form to be considered for the dog or pup, and we will respond to this form via our email.
We will then request to complete a yard check, or for you to send in photos of your yard showing the fencing, space, shelter and any hazards etc, to confirm it is safe and secure, as well as adequate space for a working breed dog.
Following this, we will then put you in touch with the dog/s foster carer/s that you are interested in, to chat further over the phone, about whether the dog is a good fit for your family, and vice versa. We are searching for the perfect match for each dog and their needs. We offer interstate adoption on all of our dogs.
