Some dogs simply need someone to see beyond the things they struggle with… and Nova is one of those dogs. ❤️

Nova is a beautiful 3-year-old Rottweiler girl looking for a very special home where she can finally have the time, guidance and one-on-one attention she deserves.

Her current family is sadly no longer able to meet Nova’s needs. With housing complications and a new baby due, they have made the incredibly difficult decision to find her a new home rather than allow her needs to continue going unmet.

Nova is loyal, loving and incredibly cuddly. She loves being close to her people — often happiest when she can be right beside you or touching you. Once she knows and trusts someone, she loves nothing more than receiving pats and affection. ❤️

She is also a clever girl who knows her basic commands, including sit, stay, come, shake, drop it and wait. She enjoys playing fetch, loves her toys and is a wonderful car traveller. She is house-trained and can be left home alone without being destructive.

But we want to be completely honest about Nova. ❤️

Nova can be nervous with new people and needs time to build trust. She can also be reactive and fixated on other dogs when out walking, and can pull towards them and ignore her handler. Her family describes her as bossy/dominant around other dogs.

For this reason, we are looking for an experienced Rottweiler home where Nova can be the ONLY dog.

Nova has lived successfully with two senior female dogs and plays gently with them, however her behaviour around other dogs outside the home means we feel an only-dog home is the safest and most appropriate placement for her.

🐾 Nova and children:
Nova has lived with children, including young children, and has always been good with them. She enjoys playing and will happily accept cuddles and pats. She can become excited when children are running around, but responds when corrected.

🐾 Cats:
Nova has never lived with cats, so we are looking for a cat-free home.

🐾 Other animals:
She has not been exposed extensively to livestock, so this would need careful consideration.

She is now desexed, and her new family will need to understand that helping Nova succeed will mean continuing to work on her confidence, loose-leash walking and reactions to other dogs.

This isn’t about finding Nova just any home.

It’s about finding her person. ❤️

Someone who understands Rottweilers.
Someone who won’t expect perfection on day one.
Someone who will give her boundaries, consistency and patience.
Someone who will let her take the time she needs to trust them.

Because underneath the nervousness and big feelings is a girl described by the people who know her best as loyal, loving and cuddly — a girl who simply wants to be beside her person.
