Dewey - 4 Month Old Toy Poodle

Dewey is a loving toy poodle whose tail never stops wagging. This sweet boy adores his toys, but his favourite place is next to (or on top of) his person. He'll shadow you around the house and curl up close whenever he can.

- Smart and food motivated – has already learnt the basic commands and walks well on a lead
- Untested with cats
- Untested with other dogs, but now that he is vaccinated, he will be slowly introduced to new dogs to help with his confidence
- Toilet and crate trained – sleeps beautifully all night long
- Best suited to children over 8 due to his excitable and nippy puppy nature
- Secure, puppy-proof yard required – as a little and curious pup he will try to squeeze through gaps and bars
- Professional shadow, part-time trip hazard
- Needs to be returned to a DRN approved vet for desexing

This clever little guy is a quick learner and eager to please. He is already toilet trained and has mastered his basic commands, including sit, wait, come and down. Like all puppies, he will need patience, consistency and plenty of positive reinforcement as he keeps growing and learning, but he's gaining confidence every day.

Dewey is a big fan of kids and would love nothing more than a family to call his own! He's still very much a puppy and hasn't quite grown out of his nippy stage, so a home with older children would suit him best. He also fancies himself a helpful member of the household, always keen to lend a paw with the chores. Laundry is his favourite chore, though his idea of "helping" usually ends with him proudly running off with a sock or two!

Dewey can be left alone for a few hours during the day, but he'd be happiest with someone who is home most of the time. His dream home has a grassy yard for zoomies and rolling around, a spot on the sofa next to his favourite person, and a warm, cosy bed to snuggle into at night.

Dewey's adoption fee is $1,300 which includes his desexing when he is old enough. It also includes his first two vaccinations. He has been treated for fleas and worms, and is microchipped.

Dewey is in foster care in Valentine, NSW. Since he is not yet desexed, he is only available for adoption to the Lower Hunter region (Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens, Maitland and Cessnock) plus Central Coast and Sydney. He'll need to be returned to one of our approved vets for desexing when he's 5 to 6 months old.
