About Digger
Digger is just a really good dog! A charismatic kelpie fellow who has a wonderful balance of calm and plenty of get up and go!
Digger loves his people. Never far away while you tend the garden, carry out chores, or work on your laptop from home. He will mooch about by your side or snooze in the sun on a trampoline. He relishes exploring the bush with you on a hike but is just as happy for a sedate walk down the road.
Digger walks well on lead, checking in with you when his pace gets too quick, and if he forgets and pulls, a reminder brings him back in step. Digger has a good recall and is learning to stay within range when walking off lead through the paddocks.
Digger has learnt to sit for his meals. He loves the ute and effortlessly springs into the tray or happily sits up in the back seat. He travels well and quietly waits while you run errands in town. Out and about, he is interested to meet new human and doggie friends - but a country boy at heart, he doesn’t mind returning to the quiet rural life.
Digger settles on his bed inside at night until the morning sun heralds all the joys that only a day with his humans can bring! Digger gets along well with his older kelpie foster brother. He tries to razz his mate into a game and gets a bit competitive for the ball (although he hasn’t quite learnt to bring it back!) but is respectful and accepts when the old boy tells him enough.
Digger is being fostered on acreage with farm fencing, and he has not wandered with company and supervision. He is settled if left home in his secure dog run but can jump out of standard height fencing and does need a secure space when left alone.
Digger would happily reside with a settled and calm mature dog friend. However, he wouldn’t mind having his owner(s) all to himself either - spending the days together gardening, walking, camping, fishing, accompanying you out in the paddocks, snoozing in the sun - would all suit Digger just fine! Digger would do best in a family with older/adult children, or a couple, or single person looking for a best mate to include in their every day. Digger is just a really good dog!

To apply to adopt a dog from Dogs4Jobs, you must firstly complete our adoptions application form in full at https://dogs4jobs.com.au/adoption-process-forms/.
You can also write out your answers and email them to dogs@dogs4jobs.com.au
*Please note, due to the high volume of applications received, we will not respond to Petrescue chat messages, or enquiries to adopt a dog. You must complete our adoptions form to be considered for the dog or pup, and we will respond to this form via our email.
We will then request to complete a yard check, or for you to send in photos of your yard showing the fencing, space, shelter and any hazards etc, to confirm it is safe and secure, as well as adequate space for a working breed dog.
Following this, we will then put you in touch with the dog/s foster carer/s that you are interested in, to chat further over the phone, about whether the dog is a good fit for your family, and vice versa. We are searching for the perfect match for each dog and their needs. We offer interstate adoption on all of our dogs.
