My Ideal Home:
• I’m still a puppy, which means I will chew, nip, have accidents, bark, and sometimes be a little destructive. With patience, consistency, and training, I’ll learn — but I need a family fully committed to putting in the time and effort to help me succeed.
• I’ll need daily exercise — walks, park or beach trips, and playtime in the backyard will keep me happy and healthy.
• Ongoing training and guidance with basic manners will help me grow into a well-behaved companion.
• I want to be part of the family indoors — not left outside without interaction.
• As a social and playful pup, I may really enjoy attending doggy daycare.
• Secure fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent) is essential to keep me safe.
• Most importantly, I’m looking for lots of love and attention from my family.
• Once I have settled into my new environment, I can sometimes be a little bouncy and mouthy, so any children in the home would need to feel comfortable and confident around an energetic, enthusiastic dog joining the family.
• Socialisation is just as important as training. Taking me to new places, introducing me to all sorts of people, dogs, and other animals will help me grow into a confident, well-adjusted dog.
• I absolutely love other dogs! I’m energetic and playful, so I’d thrive with a dog who matches my enthusiasm and to keep me company when my family isn’t home, or if you dont have another dog, a household where someone is around most of the time and will take me for lots of socalising with other dogs. I can feel lonely and a little anxious when left alone, which may lead to barking or destructive behaviour.
• I was unsure around cats at the shelter and may become more inquisitive as my confidence grows. If I join a home with a cat, they’ll need to be dog-savvy and introductions must be gradual and well managed.

My Paw-some Perks:
• I’m a very playful, happy pup with the cutest little wiggle-butt when I’m excited.
• I’m highly food motivated, which makes training lots of fun and helps me learn quickly.
• I’m gentle and placid in nature, and I’ve had some basic obedience training — I’m generally a well-mannered dog. I know my first command, sit! Plus I’m always eager to learn more.
• I walk nicely on lead for a young dog, and with daily walks I’ll only keep improving.
• I’m very social and happy to hang out with other friendly dogs — total social butterfly!
• I absolutely love attention, cuddles, hugs, kisses and head scratches, and I’m quite partial to snoozing on the couch with my humans.

Training/Support Needs:
• I’m shy when meeting new people and in unfamiliar environments, I’ll need a patient family who will allow me indoors, move at my pace, and gently build my confidence through ongoing socialisation. It doesn't take me long to become my happy bouncy self, especially when I have support from my family.
• I’m not housetrained yet, as I haven’t previously been allowed inside, so I’ll need guidance and consistency to learn.

Please Note: You’ll only be able to meet Pixie if your application is approved. Successful applicants will be invited to the shelter for a meet-and-greet, and any dogs currently in the home must attend as well

PLEASE NOTE: Shelter staff make the final decision based on determining if the applicant can meet the animals needs (lifestyle, home environment, experience) Our goal is to ensure a permanent home that sets both the animal and new family up for success.
Shelter staff reserve the right to deny an adoption if they determine the animal's specific needs do not match the applicant's lifestyle.
