Meet Pirate, a handsome young Blue Heeler looking for an active home where he can enjoy everything a working-breed youngster loves – exercise, play, training and being part of the family.

Pirate is a playful, energetic young boy who loves being involved in what’s going on around him. He is a young, excitable dog, a home comfortable with the energy and enthusiasm of a working breed would suit him best.

He is toilet trained and happily sleeps through the night in his crate. During the day he is currently mainly an outside dog.

Pirate enjoys his daily walks and usually gets a 20–30 minute walk each morning, with another walk during the day when possible. He does stop and start for sniffs and is interested with anything on wheels. He knows his basic commands and would benefit from someone who has the time to continue his training and give that clever Heeler brain plenty to do.

On walks, Pirate is very interested in other dogs and wants to engage. He can be a little timid around dogs larger than himself and more excitable with smaller dogs. He hasn’t lived with another dog, so appropriate introductions would be important, but his current family feels he may benefit from having a suitable canine companion.

Like many young herding breeds, Pirate can be mouthy/nippy when excited, but his family has not reported any concerning aggression. He can also dig or chew things left within reach when he hasn’t had enough stimulation – another reason we think an active home that understands working breeds would be ideal for him.

🚗 He travels well in the car when appropriately restrained.
🏡 He has shown no attempts to escape his current yard with standard residential fencing.
🩺 No known medical issues, allergies or medications.

Pirate’s ideal home?

We would love to find him a home with some room to run and people who understand the needs of an intelligent, energetic working breed. Someone who enjoys walking, training and involving their dog in everyday life would be wonderful for him.

Pirate will also come with a crate, harnesses, leads, blankets and other belongings to help him settle into his new home.

Pirate is still very young and has so much potential with the right person willing to give him the time, guidance and activity he needs. 💙

Assisted Rehome – Pirate was originally in a home where he wasn’t cared for properly, therefore his current family wanted to help him out of the situation so they could find him a more appropriate home that suits his breed.
