READY FOR ADOPTION – MEET BADGER

Badger is a kelpie cross puppy. He is predicted to be a large dog once fully grown with a current weight of 13.8kg and a fun loving, gentle and playful nature.

Badger was removed from a non-supportive situation and was released to rescue when very young. He arrived with his sister Foxy, both underweight with worms, friendly but starving and displayed some food aggression due to previous lack of food and water.

He is dominant over Foxy and the other puppies currently. He shows no aggression outside of eating meals, playfully engaging and interacting with them consistently.

Badger is black and white, typical of many domesticated animals indicating his friendly nature and has spots similar to a dalmatian in some areas of his body. His big floppy ears are shared by his sister Foxy but his face is black and white.

He loves to play and sit for treats, he enjoys interacting and also laying on the couch for cuddles. He is doing well quickly learning to sit for treats, shake, lay down and is good on the slip lead showing less hesitation than his sister with the car or walking on lead but has not been walked yet due to his age and vaccination requirements – this begins next week!

He is crate trained with his sister and two other foster puppies over night and enjoys the routine of being inside with company right next to him.

Badger is great with the children and thinks of himself as a lap dog which would need to change as he grows! He play bites and tugs at clothing like his sister but is quick to stop with a quick redirection, sitting and waiting to find out what he should do next, playfully waiting for the next game or positive interaction which he loves.

Badger had a tooth removed as his juvenile canines were a bit close together and requires a vet follow up just to check on the development, it is predicted at Hallam Veterinary Clinic that he will likely need to follow up and check up just to ensure the mouth has healed. Badger is a good patient, easy to medicate and ready for anything due to his loving and gentle nature.

Badger is on the search for a loving home who will guarantee him the love and affection he needs, understand his size and give him the opportunity in life to display his beautiful nature understanding he never needs to fight for food and water ever again and will always have the needed medical treatment he so desperately needed on arrival as a puppy.
