Chunka & Zativa

Chunks and Zativa are a delightful bonded pair of adorable min Dachshunds, each with their own sweet disposition and vibrant personality. They are friendly, affectionate and protective, and love nothing more than being close to their people, receiving cuddles and spending quality time with their family.
Chunks our handsome little boy is 7 kilos and his adorable BFF Zativa weighs in at 4 kilo and their bond to each other is inseparable,
They enjoy playing together, chasing each other around the yard and, of course, going for their daily walks. They are also big fans of treats and their favourite toys that keep you laughing for hours watching them play together.
Chunks and Zativa are very bonded and will be adopted together. Chunks can bark at other dogs and sees himself as Zativa’s little protector, with Zativa often following his lead. Due to Chunks not liking other dogs around his BFF we are seeking no other dogs in the home pl;ease. They have not been tested with cats
For this reason, they would be best suited to quieter walking areas where they are not constantly surrounded by other dogs. They can become excited when they see other dogs, but Chunks settles as the walk progresses.
Both Chunks and Zativa are friendly and affectionate with people and love being around their humans. They are excited to see their foster mum when she arrives home and often celebrate with zoomies and play-wrestling before heading out for their walk.

They can be quite excitable and initially wary when greeting people,They have not been tested with young children.and we feel they are best suited in a home with more mature children if already in the home.
Chunks and Zativa are currently left alone for much of the day with access to the outdoors and are able to manage independently. However, they would ideally love a home where someone is around for much of the day, as they really enjoy human company and like to shadow their people.
They are happiest when they can be part of family life rather than being left alone for extended long periods.
Chunks and Zativa love being inside with their family and will happily follow their humans around the house. They are affectionate, playful and enjoy plenty of cuddles.
They are typical Dachshunds and can be vocal when people are near the back fence or arrive at the door so you always know when you are getting visitors lol
A medium-sized, securely fenced backyard would be ideal, giving them room to chase each other around and enjoy some playtime.
Both have the typical grooming needs of Dachshunds and are relatively easy to maintain.
Chunks and Zativa have settled well into their foster routine. There were a few toilet-training accidents during their first few weeks, but these quickly resolved once they became comfortable in their new environment.
Chunks can pull on the lead as he is eager to get going, while Zativa prefers a more leisurely pace and loves taking her time to sniff and explore.
At night, Chunks and Zativa sleep together on their bed on the floor in the bedroom. They would happily sleep on the bed with their humans if allowed.
They sleep soundly through the night and are also very fond of a leisurely sleep-in or a morning nap.
Travel
Chunks and Zativa are excellent travellers and enjoy going for car rides. They are happy to accompany their humans on adventures.
They enjoy dry kibble in the morning and a combination of dry food and half a tin of wet food in the evening.
They have a very sweet habit of eating together and occasionally swapping bowls, although neither steals food from the other. They also love carrying their biscuits out of the bowl and taking them somewhere else to enjoy.
And, unsurprisingly, they absolutely adore treats!
Exercise
These two energetic little Dachshunds need a daily walk and really love getting out and about.
Chunks is the more enthusiastic walker and can pull on the lead because he is eager to get going, while Zativa is more relaxed and prefers to stop and sniff along the way.
They also have plenty of fun playing together at home, with zoomies and play-wrestling a regular part of their routine.
Medical
Both dogs are desexed , vaccinated . Microchipped and Zativa has had a dental completed.
Ideal home
Chunks and Zativa are looking for a loving home together with a family who has plenty of time to devote to these two gorgeous little characters.
They would love a home where they can be part of family life, spend plenty of time indoors, enjoy daily walks and receive lots of cuddles and attention. They are affectionate little shadows who love being close to their people.
A medium-sized, securely fenced backyard would be ideal for them to play, chase each other around and enjoy their favourite toys.
They have not been tested with young children, so older, dog-savvy children are preferred due to their excitable and sometimes jumpy nature.
Their new family should be comfortable with typical Dachshund traits, including some barking and a tendency to become excited around other dogs. Quieter walking areas would suit them best.
If they are allowed on the couch or bed, Dachshund-friendly steps or ramps will be required to help protect their long backs as these little long dogs are prone to back issues if allowed to jump up and down from heights so excessive stairs must also be considered as a potential issue.
Secure fencing is essential.
No apartment living will be considered as they adore zooming around on grass
Most importantly, Chunks and Zativa need a family who will love them as a pair and give them the time, companionship and affection they crave.
